The Magnetic Cat Door: Cats Need To Come And Go Too

While a magnetic cat door sometimes operates on batteries or on regular house electrical current, that doesn't mean that it's always the case, which means that they can continue operating even when there's a power failure. This feature is very convenient, as the door won't let the cat be locked out during bad weather because the storm kocked out the electrical system of the neighborhood.

    How Magnetic Doors Operate

The magnetic pet door responds to a small magnet that is attached to a collar worn around the catís neck or to keys worn on the catís collar. When the cat comes next to the door, the detection of the magnet makes the system open the door. The cat is then free to go and come at their convenience.

The main purpose of the magnetic cat door is to let the cat into or out the house without the help of the owner, who can even go out on vacation without worrying about the cat.

The magentic cat door has a feature that adds safety to your cat's life: it will lock itself after your cat has passed through it. This will keep unwanted animals from getting inside the house. As a nice addition, thieves can't use the door to get into your house either.

Some magnetic cat doors even have some extra features that will allow you to modify how and when access is granted. Magnetic cat doors aren't really harder to install than regular cat doors.

A magnetic pet door is resistant to water, which means that you won't have to worry about rain or winter affecting it, and it won't let water come into your house either. Convenient as they may be, magnetic cat doors aren't recommended for young kitties.

Generally cost around $50. There are some expensive models that go up to $100. You can even get one made in order to fit the style of your house, but that will cost even more.

If you have a cat, installing a magnetic cat door is a very good idea. This way, there's no need to open the door or a window every time the cat goes in or out. Oh, and a magnetic pet door will ONLY open for your cat.
