You'd only get a Yorkie for free if a friend gave you one. These are not cheap dogs. They can run as high as $1500 for a purebred. The odds of finding one even at a shelter are pretty slim.

Still, you can go to a rescue. There are Yorkie rescues in Texas, and though you'd still have to pay, the cost would be less. Plus, you'd be giving a needy dog a home.

How much should a Yorkie puppy weigh?

I would like to know the right weight for a Yorkie puppy to weigh.
My Yorkie is ten weeks and The breeders said he is a Teacup. He weighs 4lbs now.

There can't be a right weight. Some yorkies will only be 3-4lbs and some up to 7-8lbs. A 3-4lbs would only be about a pound at 6wks. A 7-8lb would be twice that at 6wks.

If you want a small one look for a puppy that is still small at 12-16wks. They should only weigh 2-3lbs.

Why not look at a local animal shelter?
They animals there are loving and caring.
They are very low cost and shots are included.
They are well behaved and healthy, if they weren't they wouldn't be put up for adoption.

OMG:( I cut my yorkie puppies hair to short?

Okay so my puppie yorkie go into something and had mats all over her tummy, I cut way to far up onto her site. I feel so bad, I did it to her. Please how long does it normaly take a 12 week old yorkies hair to grow back

Don't worry about it, dogs don't care about their appearance. It's better to have the mats out, just be careful when cutting mats out because you can easily cut their skin.

Congrats on the puppy.. You'll need chew toys, puppy pads, treats…you can check out the "new puppy center" in PetSmart. They'll help you get everything you need..

A Yorkshire terrier or a toy chihuahua?

Tomorrow i'm going to the pound to adopt a couple of dogs. My mom is getting a Rat-cha and her dog barks alot, she was looking for something to warn me if anything was coming. I wanted something a little big more quieter and that was cute. I'm torn between an all black yorkshire terrier named Lewis and a toy Chihuahua named Daniel. So i wanted to know which one would be the best choice? When i visited Lewis, he wagged his tail at me (i'm assuming that's a good sign). I specifically looking for something small because i stay in an apartment and the last dog we had, i ended up giving to my uncle because he was too heavy and was more of a house dog. So which dog do you think would be best for a teenage girl?

I am wondering if a pomeranian is cheaper to buy than a toy yorkshire terrier because I am not sure which one to get. which on should i get, any advice? And which one has a generally nicer temperament and is easier to train?

That just completely depends. Neither is a "cheap" breed. Temperament just depends. Terriers tend to be feistier.
