Dogs play with dogs. It doesn't matter what breed….He can play with Great Danes and Mastiffs if he wants too. It all depends on how well the dog is trained, and socialized and the dogs disposition.

She HATES to be brushed and I do what I can to get the mats out, but there are so many and they are too close to her skin to cut off. I attempt to brush her everyday, but as I said she HATES it and I need both hands to work with the mats and when someone else trys to hold her, their hands are in the way of the mats, so that doesn't help at all. You may just have a dog with a particularly hard-to-groom coat. My Miniature poodle has a very soft coat that tangles if you look at it and it requires a lot of daily grooming and not letting it grow too long. I would suggest having someone help you when you brush her. Just be very gentle and talk softly to her and give her treats to make the grooming process one that she will learn to enjoy rather than to fear. Get someone to help you if you need more hands. There are some detangling products on the market that might help. Either she hasn't had a coat change yet, or her coat is gong to be that silky texture always. I don't know about the standards for Yorkie coats, but if there is a shortish cut that you could keep her in, rather than to let the hair grow long and sweeping, that might help. Check around and see if there are any good books on Yorkie Grooming, or consult with a GOOD professional groomer who specializes in Yorkies to see what they might be able to tell you. Good luck!!

He has great temper, very friendly and extremely smart. Everytime someone sees him, they ask where did i get him at, and that happens often, especially when we go to vet's office. So i was thinking about studing him either for litter or a fee.
He does have AKC registered parent and the other parent does not have papers but also purebred. My dog weights 3.4 pounds.

How much does he weigh? If he's under 7 lbs., he's not a "teacup"…just a plain old Yorkie. If he's over 7 lbs., he's an oversized Yorkie.

Do you know if he carries the genes for luxating patella? What about eye problems? Have you had him CERFed? What was his OFA/Pennhip hip rating?

How do I know that your dog would be producing healthy puppies? If I don't…why on earth would I breed to him??

There is a lot more to being breeding quality than having a nice personality.

You can't. Unless you luck up and find one in a shelter or rescue. Breeding dogs ethically is not cheap, so neither are the dogs. Breeders have to pay for vet bills, medical testing, vaccinations, stock, grooming and whelping supplies, registration fees, food, etc etc. It all adds up and $200 doesn't even scratch the surface of what a breeder invests in even one dog. Which would you be willing for them to cut corners on just to meet your budget?

I would suggest that you take your time and save your money. Concentrate your search less on price and more on finding a reputable breeder. Like all other indulgences in life, you have to pay for what you want. Dogs are no different.

My mom and i were just looking at that like 20 minuets ago. They went for $745-$1050! it's a lot, but i have heard that the price is worth it. Now just to give you a little hint, If the yorkies are listed under Tecup or Tiny yorkie, and they are higher priced then all the others, don't buy it! There is no such breed as Tecup yorkies or Tiny yorkies or even Toy Yorkies! just to warn you. Hope i helped!

Well if you fall for the " tea cup" act then you will be out a lot of money. First of all, there isn't a tea cup yorkie or of any breed! There is only 1 size of yorkie and thats under 7 pounds. There's no other size standards!

2. Those so called "tea cups" are usually very sick! Watch out for behavioral problems as well!

3. Both breeds will be expensive if you buy from a RESPONSIBLE breeder. Sure you might find some scum breeders(back yard breeders) that offer then a little cheaper then the RESPONSIBLE ones but in the end you might be forking over an additional $500+ in vet bills as they usually have parents that have no genetic testing…and usually have something and passes the bad genes in the pups!

So buy responsibly and you might not have to have a fortune in vet bills from a sickly poorly bred dog!

And you can also try shelters and breed rescues. Believe it or not, you can get a purebred in shelters/breed rescues! And don't fall for the "designer breed" crap either. No responsible breeder will breed mutts and call them names like " yorkiepoos" cockapoo"etc. Mutts are mutts, no matter the freaking names you call them. Shelters have lots of them and guess what…….they are not overpriced!
