Free Yorkies For Adoption

I’m thinking about getting a Yorkie and I wanted to something. If you life it short and scruffy You can get it trimmed. If you keep it long then you’ll have to keep giving it baths and brushing it’s hair. I would suggest having your groomers trimming your yorkshires fur. Yorkshires fur tends to grow fast so you might want to schedule many appointments. You should know that when Yorkshires get older their fur gets silver. It’s not because your not giving it enough baths or because of stress or anything like that it’s just because well. You know. I guess it’s because they’re old. Well I hope that helps! Good luck!

I have just got off the phone with the shipping company and i was told that the shipping cost of babies to your nearest airport will be US$750 and i think you know that we will both be responsible for the payment as agreed. You don’t have to prove it to anyone though because these overseas scammers are hard to catch. Apparently people have been posing as missionaries and their tea-cup yorkies are not in suitable conditions in Cameroon. The food is terrible and the weather is bad! The Yorkies are for free, they all up for adoption but the downfall is you have to pay the customs. Are these dogs not supposed to be quarinteened?

Has anyone come across anything like this? and has anyone been fooled into paying just for the customs duties?
I came across the ad and went along with the person by the name of Minerva Bannister who migrated from Australia to Cameroon with this sweet 2mnth old tea-cup yorkie named Lilli who needed a good home. I was picked with in minutes of responding to the ad. I was asked to send a moneygram of R550.00 (Rand), and I would have the yorkie within 2days.

I fortunately deal with a reputable breeder here in South Africa who will be organizing a yorkie for me. So please dont fall for these sob stories. Be careful!!!

People from Cameroon place false ads all over the internet including craigslist where their ads can be found in all states and sending similar responses to inquiring people. These scammers also place ads not only for dogs but for Macaws as well.
I am pretty sure I’ve seen a report on this on the news…

I did my research on dogs and adoptions. There are alot of classified ads online.. like "free yorkies for adoption"etc. but when i actually ask them about a pic and details on adoption procedures. They ask me to give them my personal info. and a 100 dollars etc. they say it’s the adoption fee(paperwork fee), and dog’s actually free etc. Should i trust them? Especailly there’s one guy replied my request within 15 minutes, and his/her reply’s like 2 pages long single spaced…obvsly i mean i cant possibly do that within 15 mins. makes me doubt about their credibilities. If anyone of you knows about the adoption procedures and fees plz help me… Also, for my first dog, should i get it from a breeder? I knew to buy one from a reputable breeder’s better. but adoption’s cheaper and most importantly help to save a dog. Suggestions on this issue are welcome as well. Thanks guys.

a rescue or shelter is great place to go. The 100$ fee is usually used to cover spaying or neutering, vaccinations, admin costs… yes rescue societies and shelters have admin costs. This fee is also used to help by food, bedding, toys, etc, for the shelters.

When you go to meet a shelter or rescue worker, come prepared with a list of questions, and, be assured, they will have a ton for you. They will also likely require you to sign an agreement that you take your dog to obediance classes.
So, yes, trust them, the dog is "free", the 100 dollars is being put to good use so that the shelters/recue society can continue to operate and help these animals.

Rather than go for an ad "free whatever online" check out the breed specific rescue societies, or contact the Canadian Kennel Club, and they can put you in contact with the rescue closest to you.
