ok so i have wanted a dog since i was 5 and now my family is moving so we can finally get one! I am looking for a dog that is a companion dog. i also want it to be easy to train the youngest child in the house is 13. oh and i can not shed. i have pretty much narrowed down my search to the miniature poodle and the yorkshire terrier. what dog do u prefer for me? if u have any extra questions, my email address is bulki10@yahoo.com also if u do not like either of these choices, tell me what u like
i mean shed very little they all shed
Both breeds I absolutely adore, my family has had both. The yorkie owned in my family wass very sweet, but I have also heard of many spiteful and nasty yorkies. I own a toy poodle. She is the sweetest dog that I have ever met. She learns quickly, and never has accidents now, though she did as a puppy. (she is 2). She is intelligent and would neer hurt a flea. She is also very healthy. My families’ Yorkie had epilepsy and they are somewhat prone to issues. I would advise a poodle. ( As according to the other comment, you really only have to get them groomed a month to a month and a half apart, so long as you cathe them). Good Luck with your puppy!

For looks, intelligence, and personality, I prefer miniature poodles. They are very smart, friendly dogs, and have the added bonus of not shedding. However, you must be prepared to pay $30-50 every 8 weeks to have a poodle groomed, or learn to do it yourself. If this is an issue, then you should get a Yorkie.

Poodles are very smart, and they rarely shed. Plus, there are different sizes to choose from (toy, miniature, and toy) It’s also great because you have a young child at home and Yorkshire terriers are very small and kids can sometime mishandle them.

Okay i say a poodle. They are more calm and smart. I have a yorkshire terrier (girl) and they are very hard to train!!!!!! lol

Poodles are very smart and do not shed. The down side of that is that you need to take them to the groomers every 4-6 weeks to get a haircut and get bathed. The hair will grow and will get matted / knotts even though you try to brush them every day. They will have hairy feet and the groomers trim that. If you leave a poodle and not groom it, they’re feet can get dirty and muddy and get the inside of your house dirty. Also to groom a poodle is approx $40 each time depending on the groomer. I’m all for the poodle, but just be aware of the costs that goes along w/ them.

Keep in mind, That EVERY breed sheds. But if you are comparing yorkie and poodle then poodle sheds lesser than yorkie.
