What is the best small breed dog?

Yorkshire Terrier, Miniature Daschund, Pomeranian, Pug. I like those dogs. But I would like to know of any other good small breed dogs. No more then 20 pounds. I am a country girl and would love to know of a good dog. It doesnt have to play outside with me because I already have a outdoors-y dog.
Anything on tips of the breed, health problems, ect.!!
Thanks!!
Best Wishes,
JODIE!!

A yorkshire terrier.

but NOT a yorkie you may not think there is a differance but there is a yorkie is a smaller more skidish dog and will sometimes foam at the mouth but a yorkshire terrier is a nice funny really playfull dog.

Or.

A schnauzer.

they are adorable and are a very good dogs

check out a pic

and dont get a miniature dashund.
they are to delecate one little trip down the stairs and they could die so many peoples miniture daschunds die from that(back problems)! like 50%.

I have a pekingese and a toy poodle. They are both great lap dogs and love to snuggle.

Problems- Pekingese- breathing problems and can't tolerate high heat temps outdoors. Outside activity in summer months should be limited. You have keep them trimed to help keep body heat down.

Poodle- just keeping him trimmed. His hair is very curly and matts easily.

I love Maltese dogs. I don't know anything about their breed-specific health issues or whatever, but they're just so darned cute!

YORKIES!

They are very obedient and can learn anything quickly and they dont shed hair. Also they are a bit protective of their owners even though they can hurt a fly. Plus they are adorable and they dont grow to be much more that 4- 15 pounds..

I really love Jack Russell Terriers - They are a very active breed and i don't know how active you are. They also have a very high prey drive so you should have a fence if you are thinking about bringing this breed into your home.

I have three small mutts and a purebred(assuming) small dog that i adopted from a shelter, You should go to http://WWW.petfinder.com or just visit your local shelter.
