How Many of You Agree That Shelters and Rescues Are Where People Should Look for Puppies/dogs?

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

I have always adopted my puppies/dogs from animal shelters and rescue home shelters and have never had a problem. I recently rescued 2 yorkie puppies and they are now almost 11 weeks old and are a tremendous joy! I also have a rat terrier and she just turned 7 years old. I encourage people to adopt from animal and local rescue shelters. I have done it now for 35 years.

I disagree sorry whilst there are many dogs and puppies needing homes not every one wants a shelter dog i bought a Shih tzu puppy from a reputable breeder because i wanted a genetically sound puppy that’s parents had been health tested shown and offered me a guarantee for life

I did adopt a dog from a shelter and 2 years later and £6,000 later he was sadly put to sleep i don’t regret for for 1 min of adopting him just could not go through the heartache and seeing my dog in pain again it just about destroyed me He had so many things wrong with him and needed many operations and was always on pain medication that i was not prepared to do that again the puppy i have got it genetically sound

You know very little about shelter dogs there pedigree there genetics and i think its great people do give them homes but sadly i wont again because of what i went through when you have been through what i have with a dog and i loved that dog he was part of my family and it broke my heart i could never ever go through that again even know typing this it makes me upset just thinking about him
Every one has the right to buy or adopt and i really don’t agree with your statement sorry

How to Cut a Yorkie’s Hair?

Friday, December 10th, 2010

i wanna cut my yorkie hair any tips u guys can give me…

Go to a dog groomer! Not a professional groomer specific for grooming, that’s not the only option. Pet stores often have groomers for lower price and just as good of service!

How Do I Stop My Puppy Yorkie From Pieing All Over the Place?

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

My Yorkie is only 11 weeks old. When I pick him up from the breeder, he was doing his business on a newspaper. At home he doing it all over. How do I teach him to use the newspaper again?

Housebreaking your new puppy is going to take patience. Ideally, you should begin to housebreak as soon as you bring your new puppy home. Puppies need to relieve themselves approximately six times a day. A puppy should be taken out immediately after each meal since a full stomach puts pressure on the colon and bladder.

Is a Teacup Yorkies a Good House Dog to Have?

Monday, December 6th, 2010

im thinking about getting my daughter a teacup yorkies for christmas she only 9months i really wanted to make sure there good with babies and is they health and do they live a long time

There is no such thing as a TEACUP yorkie. They are all one size type dogs. They are very great dogs though, I have one. She is super smart. Loves to cuddle, play, and learn new things. Her most favorite thing to do is ride in the car. She will cry and cry when we leave the house if she doesn’t get to go, she is normal though when we get home and you can tell she just went back to laying around once we left. She will do anything to get to ride with us. She can do whatever trick you try to teach her in like 5 mins flat. She listens very well about everything. Great dog!
