Im trying to find a yorkie, but am having trouble finding a good breeder. any suggestions or websiteS?
thanks(:
if you decide to buy from a breeder……… whatever breeder you buy it from. make sure they dont inbreed or linebreed ask to see papers on both parents n the pup.you might be paying more in vet bills then you do for the pup.make sure you get a shot record thats signed by a vet so you know the pups seen a vet.its your choice on what you do.goodluck.

Is My 5 Year Old Cockatiel Gonna Get Along With a Yorkie Terrier?
Monday, October 11th, 2010
A 10 year old Yorkie is going to be staying in my house, and I’m afraid the dog will get the bird. what are the chances the two will get along? Some people my brother knows were going to put the dog down because of some health issues, i met the dog a few times, so i decided to try to save him.
I doubt the cockatiel will attack the yorkie but the dog may view the bird w/ an inherent desire to attack. The greatest likelihood of compatibility occurs among young animals. I wouldn’t risk trying to socialize these 2 animals.
Have New Teacup Yorkie Puppy and Im a Fashion Student Sooo I Really Want a Nice Fashion/designer Related Name?
Saturday, October 9th, 2010
I agree with the first poster. Coco is the perfect name for a Yorkie puppy. Her coat is the color of chocolate and she’d obviously be named after Chanel.
I also like:
1. Armani
2. Gucci
3. Oscar (for de la Renta)
In that order! Good luck and enjoy your brand new puppy!
Anyone Knows a Reputable Toy Teddy Bear Face Yorkie Breeder in Texas?
Wednesday, October 6th, 2010
and I know enough about yorkie so please keep your opinions about back yard breeders I mean I want a smaller AKC yorkie in the 4-5 lbs range rather than 9 lbs only because they are easier to travel with
Teddy bear face is another term for SHORT nose please keep opinions to your self because they are useless.
When you contact breeders, make sure to ask them many questions about their breeding program. Ask them for references from others that have bought dogs from them in the past. Then, contact those puppy buyers to find out how their experience went with that breeder.
I saw a few Texas yorkie breeders on this site: http://www.pets4you.com/york.html
Good luck.

Your answers are great… but I was just thinking…
When its YOUR breed, does it anger you more.
I mean, Aphrodite (if your reading this) does this annoy you more than my previous post?
http://www.buyandsell.ie/search/for-sale/pets/westmeath/-/doberman-pups-9-3
When its your chosen breed, and your a responsible and caring owner who devotes time and love to the breed, and people just go and destroy them…
I don’t have ‘my’ breed yet. Its ALL angers me, it all angers you, of course. But is it that tiny bit more annoying?
Here’s some more shockers I came across. I don’t understand how people think BYB’s are not bad!
These don’t even look like Rotties!

I emailed and asked what the Rottis are mixed with.
I am awaiting the "They’re purebred DUHHH" answer.
How Can I Calm My Yorkie Down When She’s Having a Haircut?
Saturday, October 2nd, 2010
Hey, my puppy is 10 months old and today I took her for her first haircut, and 30 minutes later the lady called me and told me that she couldn’t cut my puppy’s hair because she had gone crazy, she was so stressed and at the end she couldn’t do anything. Can someone help me please?
Here’s my idea:
Start by taking your Yorkie there occasionally. Don’t have their hair cut, just take her for a short visit. After 2-3 times, have her hair cut, but stay there with her. Just talk soothingly with her. Keep taking her in periodically to visit so she will stay comfortable with the salon. After a couple trips with her to cut her hair, she shouldn’t need you any more. Hope that helps!
Is There Any Place in Hong Kong for Yorkshire Terrier Breeders?
Friday, October 1st, 2010
My family loves a yorkie just like my aunt. But she lives in the US and we live in Hong Kong. So do you know anywhere to go?
If it’s in the UK, KC registered ones are the best. In HK we don’t have that luxury so the safest bet is to get one from a pet shop. Be very weary of any that cost under 7500HKD. A lot of unethical shop owners smuggle sick pups from mainland in bags, and sell them at under 5000 with no vaccinations or guarantees. The medical fees cost 10 times more than the dog itself and if you go back to the shop they refuse to refund anything. Avoid shops in CWB: they sell pups at a ridiculous price and puppies get manhandled by all sorts of strangers.
There used to be a shop (Wan Kau) in MK behind New Century Plaza that sells beautiful healthy dogs, but they couldn’t afford the rent and moved off somewhere else =(
I have the privilege of owning 5 Yorkies myself (mother & a litter of 4). They’re full of mischief but are bundles of fun and joy. I hope you’ll find yours very soon!
How Much Should You Pay for a Yorkshire Terrier?
Monday, September 27th, 2010
Hey yall well im doin research on yorkshires and what is the average cost of a Yorkshire terrier? And i what are they suppose to weigh and now big are they suppose to get? PLZ HELP!!! THX FOR UR TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
Howler, there is NO SUCH THING as a "purebred Tea-Cup" Yorkie.
The Yorkie is one size only – breed standard, 7lb.
If price is your main concern then you will get whatever you pay for, cehap = backyard breeder = high vet fees.
Reputable breeder = health tests, = pure bred dog.
Random web listings = full of backyard breeders – especially on Craigs list.

EXTRA for Rob: Sorry Rob, your sentiments are well meant and good but I looked at Ajils Yorkies and those are not show quality Yorkies, some even have Terrier coats, ears are all wrong, and some have coarse heads. I see no proof on their site that they show their Yorkies, no listing of show titles on their dogs or mention of AKC Champions. Maybe UKC, but not legit shows. No mention of the health tests they have had done (other than giving a "health guarantee" which could mean anything and they are charging far too much for non-show prospect pups.
How Do You Train a Teacup Yorkshire Terrier?
Sunday, September 26th, 2010
Train a yorkie? A teacup yorkie to be exact! If I don’t train him my mom is gonna give him away cause it’s been over a year! I can get him to pee outside I just can’t get him to poop outside! Sometimes when I take him outside he won’t do it and when we come back in he’ll go right upstairs and do it! How can I train him to do everything outside?
Toy breeds are difficult to housebreak, and since he is the runt of the litter, it’s going to be even harder. Most little dogs just don’t like to go outside.
Put a gate at the bottom of the stairs. One of mine loves to sneak upstairs and potty, so I just put a gate up so she couldn’t go upstairs.
Also, put him on a feeding schedule and crate train. NO HITTING OR PUNISHING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!

The term teacup is only used by byb who are selling poorly bred dogs. Yorkshire Terrier is an actual breed.
