Toy Poodle or Yorkshire Terrier?

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

okay i really hope you can help me decide which dog. I have done my research and I have narrowed it down from five dogs to two dogs. I have the most trouble with choosing between these dogs. Here is what I look for in a dog.
small but yet feisty with a attitude but yet trainable (both small not sure if that helped you)
where i work ( i own my own business) and my dog will be with me most of the time. This is not my first time owning a dog. I want a dog i can play with yet dress up and put in a purse.
I know sometimes the gender can interfere with the breed and i would like to have a female.
ps. I would also like to cuddle as well
thx
I know they are not fashion staments but I was just making a expression by saying that i want it to be a fun cute girly dog. essh people (I’ll more likely report you guys for saying that.) Ans I am adopting I have already contacted both Toy Poodle and Yorkshire Terrier rescue centers. :)
OMG stop sayiing all this. Did I not just say i was saying a expression just tring to get my point across! Goodness will somebody just answer my question!!!!!!!! Toy Poodle or Yorkshire Terrier !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am starting to get really madnobosy has answer my question yet an I have six answers!!!!!! I am soon going to stop using Yahoo Answer because of these people having bad comebacks and reactios. This is the last time or I will go off!!!!!!!!!!!1

Either one as long as you adopt, plenty of both of these breeds in shelters and they both need loving homes.

Please adopt

http://www.petfinder.com or http://www.adoptapet.com

Hundreds of Toy Poodles and Yorkshires need loving homes, all you have to do is get on either one of the above sites, type in your zip and area location and there will be tons of either dog breed and their mixes up for adoption in your area. Most of these dogs cost $150 or less and come with shots/worming and a spay/neuter

Yorkie Puppies Scam or Not?

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

I have been emailing this lady who is giving away this free Pure breed yorkie puppy. The lady has moved to Germany and says that the climate is to cold for the yorkie and wants to send it back to New Zealand. She has said that the shipping cost is $200NZD but she will pay half and we should pay the other half. So that she can take the yorkie to the delivery agent to send it off. The delivery agent is called domestic flight deliver. When the puppy arrives it will be delivered to my house.

While I would definitely import a dog from Europe, it would only be from a responsible breeder, with a longstanding reputation in the breed, preferably recommended to me by someone in whose judgement I could trust.

My advice would be to keep your money safely tucked in your wallet & walk away from this *bargain* puppy. Contact Yorkshire Terrier rescue or be prepared to be patient, find a responsible breeder of Yorkie’s & wait for a well bred puppy.

Where Can I Find Teacup Yorkshire Terriers in Canada?

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

I am looking for a yorkshire terrier. I live in the Manitoba area, so I am wondering about breeders in that area or if you have a friend etc. I will only listen to serious things within distance of my location because I have heard that there is all too many scams with dogs coming from overseas.
ok, from what I am hearing, teacups don't exist. Basically, I am really wanting a yorkshire terrier, they are plenty small enough to be honest. Where can I get them? (Adopt etc.)

This would be a good place to start:
Yorkshire Terrier Rescue, Canadian
Canadian Yorkshire Terrier Rescue (CYTR)
Club Rescue Website: (also breeder referral) http://www.canadianyorkshireterrierrescue.com

Canada Yorkie rescue lists some in Alberta:

( you would need to click on the dog name to see if any are in MB)

How Much Does a Teacup Yorkie Cost?

Monday, July 14th, 2008

i really want a tecup yorkie but i dont know how expensive they are…. so if u could plz answer….

There's no such thing as a "Teacup" Yorkshire Terrier. "Teacup" is a fancy name slapped onto very small dogs, often the runts of the litter, to sell them for huge amounts of money. These so-called "teacups" are sold by irresponsible backyard breeders and puppy mills that don't care one bit about their puppies. No good breeder would ever label their small dogs as "teacup". These extremely small dogs are so tiny that they need special care, are extremely fragile, could possibly end up with many health problems and can cost $1,000+ which is absolutely ridiculous. You will NOT find one responsible breeder that sells "teacup" Yorkshire Terriers. Realize that if you ever purchase a "teacup" Yorkshire Terrier, you'll be supporting a horrible and irresponsible backyard breeder or puppy mill. According to the AKC, a Yorkshire Terrier should not exceed 7 pounds. If that's the case, all Yorkshire Terriers less than 7 pounds is within the weight limit. That means even a tiny 2-3 pound Yorkshire Terrier is still within breed standards. If even a tiny 2-3 pound Yorkshire Terrier is still within the weight limit, it's useless for irresponsible breeders to slap on the "teacup" name because it doesn't make any sense. I highly recommend you look into a Yorkshire Terrier rescue or on http://www.petfinder.com for Yorkshire Terriers in your area. If you do plan on getting a Yorkshire Terrier from a breeder, please do your homework and learn how to tell an irresponsible backyard breeder from a responsible and reputable breeder.
