Does Anyone Have A…. Quotes–> "TEACUP YORKiE"?

ok im getting a puppy this week…and im definitely sure that i want a yorkie after much research, also because i used to have one.

long story short-im lookin for a small yorkie…i know there's no such thing as a "teacup" yorkie but they do breed small adult yorkies…does anyone have an adult yorkie, one thats maybe around 4-5lbs, if so did u have troubles with it?? im trying to look for a good breeder by my way…(brooklyn) & i want a male puppy.

1. Anyone know a good dog breeder in Brooklyn??
2. how much would a small male yorkie be?? (4-5lbs)

I breed Yorkies, but I am in Texas…males are typically smaller, you want to stay away from the teenie tiny ones, and yes teacup is a misnomer…

a male full grown around 5 pounds is still very tiny and will be healthy enough….

my females who I breed are around 5.5-6 pounds, and that is a small dog still, but better for breeding, anyone breeding a female 4 pounds or under is not ethical…LOOK for the Yorkie club in your area and find a reputable breeder, stay away from pet shops…get ready to pay around 2,000-2,400 hundred for a nice pup…good luck!

4-5 lbs is a good size for a yorkie. The breed standard says they should be under 7 lbs.

Go to the AKC website and look for breeders they recommend, and you probably won't go wrong.

The price will vary, but a quality yorkie is worth paying for. If you find a cheap yorkie from a bad breeder, you'll end up paying for it later.

I also highly recommend joining yorkietalk.com if you're serious about becoming a yorkie owner. You won't regret it!

Congratulations on your decision! Yorkies are really great!
