How much are Teacup Yorkies?
i want to get a Teacup Yorkie puppy so could someone tell me how much they cost?
Thanks in advance
all i want is a price i dont want comments about when they are gonna die or "the cost of the mother"
okay i get that teacup yorkies are"ripp offs" so now my question is
HOW MUCH ARE REGULAR YORKIES?
they can cost all different amounts; for purebreads they're expensive. it depends on the breeder though.
do NOT ask for a "teacup" yorkie though, because you might get ripped off and get a really small unhealthy weak dog. just look at the litter, and pick the cutest one! (just look for plain old YORKIES).

some are free and some are very expensive

Over $1,000 dollars and a complete waste of your money. There are no "teacup" any breeds. Those that breed them are breeding undersize dogs, unhealthy dogs, no genetic testing and ripping off people.
You will be lucky if the dog lives any more then a few years. If you like Yorkies - buy from a reputable breeder and not line the pockets of backyard breeders.

By the time you pay the puppymill, and then pay for all its health problems - quite a bit.
Oh, that's the cost to you - the cost to it's mother was that it had to have a major operation to take the puppy out of her. Nice, really nice.

some are free (shelter dogs) and some are 500-800 dollars

The initial cost is not what's going to kill you - though I can tell you it's way too much.
The money you're going to have to shell out at the vet because you bought a poorly bred, unhealthy dog is what you need to be worried about.

Teacups run you about $5-$10 and you could probably find one with a picture of a Yorkshire Terrier on it.
DOgs cost over $10,000 in their lifetime. Yorkies come in ONE size- so "teacups" are always poorly bred and may cost you a lot in vet bills.

Word of advice: there is know such thing as a tea cup anything , b/c the are really runts. Take your chances with a normal healthy pup to grow to its natural size.

Ocimom is right. "Teacup" is a term coined from backyard breeders for extra small puppies. The term is not recognized, and most likely frowned upon, by registries like the AKC, APRI, and ACA.
And I do not recommend owning such a small dog. Full grown, any small breed should be at least five pounds. Dogs that are two pounds full grown have horrible health issues: they can have bad genetic issues, a very weak immune system, and can go hypoglycemic if they get stressed out. More likely than not, if the dog was to have an issue, they would die. And the average person does not know how to handle issues such as hypoglycemia (where the dog does not eat and gets a low blood sugar)
People do not realize how much care must be put into owning a two pound dog (they have to eat every few hours; etc.) and aren't capable of caring for them well.
A dog that is going to be about five pounds full grown is small enough to fit your purposes, but not so small that it will kill the dog.
However, if you are still willing to take the extreme risk, be expecting at least $1,500, if not more.

My family has owned pet stores since 1906 and we tell this to people when they ask questions such as this.
Some can be free and some range up to $2000! If you have a breeder near you check them out and ask them questions about the breed. Some breeders ship too but this is usually stressful on your puppy.
They do not shed a lot but the grooming is extensive and tiring:(
I don'tt know if you have children or not but they can be snappish around young ones, they can also be very nippy and bark a lot.

research dogs, read about dogs
there is no such thing as a "Teacup" Yorkie, their runts, breed to be dangerously small. Really their just a rip off because breeders started breeding them cause so many ppl buy them.
roughly to start $700 on up.
go to an animal shelter or petfinder.com and you may find one for less that needs a home.
