Looking for a teacup yorkie puppy in or around Lansing Michigan!?

Hello! I was wondering if there is anyone in michigan that has teacup yorkie pups for sale. I really look forward to adding on e of these little guys(or girls) to our family! I would also appreciate any good sites to find reputable breeders.
Ok I didn't know there wasn't a such thing as "teacup" yorkies, no need to shout in caps!..lol. Thanks for all the info!
Thanks caninelover, that's a great website you mentioned, I found a list of breeders in Michigan

As mentioned, there is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie. No need to feel bad about it, most people don't realize that until they study up on the breed. Which brings me to my second point….research the breed first. Learn what red flags are associated with Yorkie breeders, educate yourself on the breed standard and learn what medical tests should be performed. It will help you make a wise decision and better enable you to find a quality breeder and a quality dog.

Check with the parent breed club (ytca.org) for a list of recommended breeders in your area. Attend local shows, agility events or handling classes.

A reputable breeder will not have "teacup" Yorkies. These are the sickly runts of litters that BYBs attempt to sell for double the price.

Look up Yorkie rescues in your area or call your local shelter.

Petfinder.com is a great site as well.

Go to your nearest antique store or craft store.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A TEACUP YORKIE.

The breed standard says 7lbs and under. A 3 pound yorkie is still just a regular flipping yorkie albeit on the small size.

Reputable breeders do not use this term so you AREN'T going to find any reputable breeders of teacups. No breeder can give you a guarantee on adult size anyways. two 4lbs yorkies could produce a pup that grows to be 7lbs.

Teacup defined: A fictitious term used by disreputable individuals to refer to an especially small dog produced by breeding runts to runts over several generations with no regard for anything but size. They are produced only for the money. They advertise them as teacups because people who do not do their research will open their wallets a whole lot wider for something called a 'teacup' than they will for something called a 'runt' and advertised as needing a lifetime of specialized care. They are tiny little vet bills on legs, and many do not live past their first birthday. Those that do will be a lifetime of health issues, many needing to be fed every hour or two to keep their blood sugar regular, need 24/7 supervision because they have difficulty regulating their own body temperature, etc. etc.

As breeders who produce them care only about money, they sell them for a lot of money. Again, because they care only about money, many people buying something advertised as a 'teacup' shell out thousands to end up with a dog that is normal-sized or even larger once it is grown. There was someone on here a few weeks ago who paid $5000 for a 'tiny teacup' Yorkshire Terrier. Guess what? It grew up to be 15 pounds!

If you want a Yorkshire Terrier, they are already quite small naturally, and there is no need for anything smaller than a normal-sized Yorkie. Local shelters and rescues will get in purebreds from time-to-time, check with them and/or look on petfinder.com If you want a puppy, save your money and buy from a reputable breeder that you located through your local breed club.

Sorry to break it to you, but Tea cups are nothing but sickly rip off pups. Tea cups are usually the runts of the litter and i have heard many stories that they get sick easily and even some where they die very early. I can not tell you how many sickly teacups i have seen that died in my vet office (i volunteer there) at such a young age. PLEASE DO NOT EVER GET ONE! Please read this info on getting the right dog for you!

~ STEP 1: CHOOSING THE RIGHT DOG
Remember, some dog breeds are good for you, but not others. Some dog breeds are good for others, but not you. It all depends on your lifestyle and family. NO DOG BREEDS ARE BETTER OR WORSE THAN ANOTHER!!! They are all equals! People make the dog the way they are, and the dogs are not to blame! You know how you always see how a dog attacks someone on the news!?!? If people would have trained them properly, do you really think that would have happened? ALSO, If people suggest dog breeds for you, don’t listen to what they say because they don’t know very much about you. All dogs are different and have many different types of needs (amount of exercise, training, food they need, energy level, size, etc.) that you may or may not be able to give to them! So here is a lot of info on getting a good dog for YOU and helpful tips and websites for dog owners!!!
~Also, before getting a dog, you need to consider the following….
-Are you and everyone in your family healthy enough to handle a dog?
-Do you have the money to buy the dog food, toys, and medicine from the vet? It costs AT LEAST $800-$1,500 the first year of owning a dog!!!!!!!!
-Are you and everyone in your family willing to give your dog daily exercise?
-Are you and your family willing to train your dog? EVERYBODY in the family has to pitch in!
If the answer is “no” to even ONE of these answers, you are NOT ready for a dog.
~Here is a great dog quiz that is ran by Animal Planet that determines dog breeds that will fit well into your lifestyle!
http://animal.discovery.com/breedselector/dogselector.do
Also, try this quiz! I think this one may be a little bit more accurate than the other. Maybe try using the results from this one instead…..

~After the quiz, do some homework on the dog breeds that the quiz suggested! Choose the one you think most fits your family! Check out….

~STEP 2: WHERE TO GET A DOG?
ADOPT! Shelter dogs are VERY inexpensive ($50-$200) and are just as good as any other dog from a breeder! They are in need of a loving home! Are you willing to give a dog a second chance that may not even be alive the next day because no one adopted them? There are millions of dogs that die each year that have no clue what they have done wrong. They die never knowing that their master they loved and trusted so much, was actually an evil monster that left them there to die alone.
Here is a great site that lists shelter dogs in your area! (first type in your zip code)

http://petfinder.com

Shelter pets die when no one was kind enough to save them. They will NEVER get another chance and never got a good life. Why backyard breed or buy while shelter dogs die? ? That is a mystery I will never understand.

Until there are none, rescue one.
If for some reason you can not or do not want to adopt, please get a PUREBRED (NO TEACUPS OR DESIGNERS OR MIXES, unless you are getting it from a shelter) from a good, reputable breeder! Also, “breeders” that breed mutts are usually only in it for the money! They make a cute little puppy that everyone loves and sell it like it is the top of the line show dog! There is the fact that no reputable breeder breeds mutts (designers-Example: Golden doodles and other mixes) and NO HEALTH TESTING is being done!!!!!! Also, teacups are usually an unhealthy dog that was the runt of the litter. Also, I heard a story on the news where this lady bought a teacup dog. She thought she was buying a Yorkie, but it actually was a Silky Terrier and it was the runt of the litter. It soon died after she bought it, like many other teacups.
DO NOT EVER EVER get a pet from a pet store! Most pet stores buy animals from PUPPY MILLS!!! Do you know what a puppy mill is? If you don’t, look it up and I am sure you will understand why you do not want to be giving them more money by buying a pup to “breed” more dogs! PUPPY MILLS BREED MISERY!
~STEP 3: PREPARING TO GET A DOG
Also, if you are not an experienced dog trainer, here are VERY helpful websites that will help you train your dog properly!

For the second link, look at some of his ebooks. They are so helpful!! Look on the left-hand side and click ebooks. Then, it will take you to a page with his many very helpful books written. Most are free to read and I highly recommend that you read dog
