Teacup Yorkie Puppies

TEACUP DOG HELP PLEASE!!?

Friday, February 6th, 2009

I want to adopt either a Teacup Yorkie or a Teacup Chihuahua.
I am looking for one that I can get for free, adopt somewhere.
I want to get your opinion on which dog would be better!
I want it to be at or less than 5 lbs., FULL GROWN.
Are long or short hair Chihuahuas better?
I know how Chihuahua's can grow up and have coarse-looking (and sometimes feeling) fur & can be 'stocky' adults like these:

And Yorkies have that "grayish" hair, which is actually called "blue":

Soooo PLEASE HELP!!
And if you know any breeders, adoption centers, animal clinics, etc. around ABERDEEN, ASHEBORO, CARTHAGE, ROBBINS & BISCOE, NORTH CAROLINA that have teacup Chihuahua puppies or teacup Yorkie puppies FOR FREE, please please please tell me! I don't order dogs over the internet, so don't give me websites to go to.

Please help me & thanks if you do help me! And thanks for reading all this too!!!!!

There is no such thing as a "teacup" for either of these breeds. There are no sub-categories for the standard based on size….just one standard. It's a marketing term used by unethical breeders used to describe ill bred runts. Reputable breeders to not purposely breed to produce extremely small dogs. If those are your requirements, I would suggest that you try your local puppy miller or back yard breeder.
If you want to be responsible and wise with your choice, then I suggest you start by researching the breeds, educating yourself on them and THEN taking the time to find a reputable breeder. It's concerning that you are willing to make a long term committment to a dog, yet you have not even bothered to educate yourself on the breed first.

How Much Will My "teacup" Maltese/yorkie Puppy Weigh?? He Is 12 Weeks and Weighs 1.8lbs ?

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

iam looking to buy this puppy but i want to make sure she is going to be a tea cup first.

Unless two purebred dogs are crossed with a specific practical purpose in mind { for example a Lurcher} then the breeder is either cashing in on the current fad for under sized, usually poorly bred dogs or had an "accidental" litter.

A responsible breeder would never use the term "tea cup", a red flag to keep your money in your pocket and walk away. If you want a cross bred dog, have a look in your local rescue shelters.

How Is the Best Way to Indoor Train My Teacup Yorkie Puppy?

Monday, January 5th, 2009

My parents just bought me a female teacup yorkie for Christmas. The breeder wont release her to me until she is 10 weeks so i will have her in mid january. Before i have her in my possesion i want to know the best way to indoor train her. I also have 2 other dogs which are a French Bulldog and a Pug. They spend most of their time outside and i want to train the yorkie inside because my other dogs are much bigger than her and can injure her easily. I also go to school during the day so i want to train her upstairs near my room. My parents will keep an eye on her while im gone but i am her owner and i dont want her to be confused to whom her main authority is. I know cats are trained to go in their litter boxes so i wondered if my dog can do the same.

PLEASE HELP ME!
The breeder is not one to mistreat her dogs. she is actually dog crazy. she treats them like babys. she is a very safe and reliable dog breeder.
please dont leave a comment that tells me to train outdoors. im not lazy..i just dont want my dog to be killed by my other dogs. no offense.

Many breeders of toy breeds make the mistake of raising pups in a large whelping box, making it difficult for the dog to grasp the concept that there is a place to eat/sleep, in other words "living space", and a SEPARATE place to eliminate. Walk her with a leash to the potty area, over and over. Do not pick her up and carry her, or she will learn to wait around to be picked up. Praise her and talk to her when she eliminates in the right place, i.e. "go pee here" "good girl".

7 lbs. is standard size for a Yorkie. Disreputable breeders deliberately try to breed smaller than the breed standard and call the dogs "teacup" size so they can charge outrageous prices to people who fall for it. Hope your dog doesn't have serious problems.

…Yorkies are easy to train, although they can sometimes be stubborn if owners do not give the dog proper boundaries. They can be difficult to housebreak. …The very tiny "teacup" Yorkies often have serious health and behavioral problems…

Edit: If the breeder calls them "teacup", that is a big, red flag. Do your research on what a teacup dog really is. Breed standards are called STANDARDS for a reason. A responsible, reputable breeder does NOT attempt to breed dogs smaller (or larger) than the standard calls for, and does not promote off-standard dogs as something especially desirable. The further a dog is from the standard, the poorer quality it is. It doesn't mean it's any less lovable, it's just a poor example of its breed.

How Much Are Teacup Yorkies?

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

i want to get a Teacup Yorkie puppy so could someone tell me how much they cost?

Thanks in advance ;)
all i want is a price i dont want comments about when they are gonna die or "the cost of the mother"
okay i get that teacup yorkies are"ripp offs" so now my question is

HOW MUCH ARE REGULAR YORKIES?

they can cost all different amounts; for purebreads they're expensive. it depends on the breeder though.

do NOT ask for a "teacup" yorkie though, because you might get ripped off and get a really small unhealthy weak dog. just look at the litter, and pick the cutest one! (just look for plain old YORKIES).

Yorkie Puppies at 8 Weeks – 2

Monday, December 15th, 2008

http://www.mini-yorkie.com has another episode in the life of three adorable teacup Yorkshire Terrier puppies. The puppies are going into their eighth week and Hoss and Peanut have found homes, but the woman who was going to take Sarah had a sudden change of heart, so Sarah is available again. They had several “big events” this week. First, they completely outgrew their “puppy pool,” so were allowed to be out in the big wide world for the first time. Second, they played outside for the first time. And third, they got their eight week vaccinations and worming. To follow the story of their lives, go to http://www.mini-yorkie.com/puppies.html.
