What Is a Teacup Yorkie Puppy?

like i know there yorkies but as in what size would a full grown mini or teacup yorkie be??
also any other info about them would be appreciated!

thanks!!!
well are there miniature yorkies then? if so same question again what size do they grow to be?? thanks!! :)
thanks everyone for your answers!! really appreciate it!!

a teacup yorkie is a smaller version of kennel club breed standards yorkies…only thing different than them and the breed standards is that they are not recognized by kennel clubs because they don’t fit the standards for showing…my aunt in west virgina breeds tea cup chihuahuas..alot want the smaller breeds so they are easier to sell…she sells her for the same price a show breeders sell theirs $1500….teacups can go 1 to 3 lbs…

  1. Chigirl thinks YOU are stupid. says:

Teacup=sick runt & sh*tty breeders use this term to make more money off of you by making you believe this is a smaller version.

A true runt is at risk for even more health issues associated with the breed.
& most of the time a "teacup" grows to be regular size.

Teacup does not exist in any breed.

As said above — there is no such thing as a mini or teacup yorkie.

Have a read of the following.

It is not the only site with lots of info like this.

There is no such thing as a teacup. That’s the name backyard breeders give to the sick runts. According to the AKC website, Yorkshire Terriers are to be within 4-7 pounds. How the hell much smaller do you want a dog?

no such thing. usually a smaller yorkie with more health problems than a regular size and one with a shorter life span. You could luck out with a smaller yorkie that is very healthy, but the chances are against you. a regular sized yorkie should be 7 lb or less and a 7 lb dog is very small.

"a teacup yorkie is a smaller version of kennel club breed standards yorkies…" Please explain HOW since the GODDAMN STANDARD SAYS 7LBS AND UNDER!

"only thing different than them and the breed standards is that they are not recognized by kennel clubs because they don’t fit the standards for showing" No its because they are bred by bybs and puppymills and and are usually out of standard in OTHER areas since the vast majority of SMALL breeds have no minimum weight. Gods you know you really make me sick Show. People like you are the reason so many people have their hearts broken because they have to put that new puppy down because its quality of life will be nil or because there is NO cure for that they have.

"…my aunt in west virgina breeds tea cup chihuahuas..alot want the smaller breeds so they are easier to sell…" Yeah because only sheep who haven’t done their research buy them

"she sells her for the same price a show breeders sell theirs $1500." Thats because she’s a greedy byb and I know plenty of PET quality Chis that go for less than 1500.

"….teacups can go 1 to 3 lbs.." Funny I know of at least 5 people who got supposed teacups and ended up with a dog that was at the top if not OVER the breed standard.

To the op – got the hint yet? THERE ARE NO TEACUP OR MICRO DOGS

Rayven, If I could give you more TU I would.
Teacup is a Label that BYB and Puppy-millers put on their poorly bred puppies to get more money out of unsuspecting, poorly educated buyers. I too have seen many so called teacups grow up to be a lot larger than their "normal" sized counterparts. I have also seen many of those tiny, undersized pups die before a year old.

The only thing that is guaranteed by the label "teacup" is that you are going to get a poorly bred puppy from a dishonest, unscrupulous person.

Add: Same answer for Miniature yorkies.

For starters, there is no such thing as a ‘teacup’ Yorkie. (or mini, tiny, micro, etc.) They are all marketing terms used by unethical breeders purposely producing extremely small dogs with no regard for their health or the breed standard–in other words, something no REPUTABLE breeder would ever do. There is ONE breed standard for Yorkies–"not to exceed 7 lbs." The average size for a Yorkie is around 4-7 lbs.
