Why Has My Puppy's Loving Personality Disappeared???

Alright, so I'm really stressin' out about this! I just purchased a female teacup Yorkie puppy 4 days ago from a legitimate (anti-kennel) puppy store. We bought her because of her sweet personality, which involved lots of licking! However, the day after, at our house, the licking STOPPED! She basically never licks us. She's a very smart 13-week-old puppy. She's already potty-trained and sometimes obliges when we tell her to sit. Her intelligence might be the reason why she is trying to be so independent. But it's like night from day compared to the day we bought her. Why do you think she's done a 180 on us??? this personality change normal for a new puppy? Will she go back to her puppy store personality ever again? HELP!!! Thanks.

do you want her to lick you??? maybe in the store she felt comfortable and now at home she isn't so sure of her surroundings and doesn't trust you.

it is normal for a puppy to be unsure of its new surroundings for a couple weeks…you have to remember this puppy left his mom, then kenneled in a strange place handed to strangers though out the day then brought home with out his "friends" and not a familar place, also at the shop people didnt coo over her 24/7 like you do so its just a little much..she will adjust to you..be patient

Its very difficult to tell a puppies personality when in a situation like that. No matter how long you spent at the pet store before you picked her out, you won't ever find out the puppies true personality until after it settles in its new home…and that means your puppy's true personality still hasn't fully come out. Its only been four days. Give her a little time to get used to and bond with you. If you treat her well, its very likely that you will get a loving dog in return.

She is probably very uncomfortable in her new surroundings… and maybe slightly depressed that she was taken from her home up to that point. Give her time and try to make her feel welcome without smothering her.

Be sure to bring her to a vet and have her checked out for parasites periodically… some pets can get irritable when they have intestinal parasites or an undiagnosed stomach ailment and it can show in their behavior. Is she eating ok? If not take her to a vet sooner to make sure she doesn't have parvo.
