What Is the Difference Between a Teacup Yorkie and a Yorkie Poo?

or any other dog that comes in teacup or poos…

“teacup” is a term used by BYBs and mills to make it sound tiny and cute when all it is is a runt
anything with the term “poo” is a mix with a poodle..again put in the name to make it sound cute instead of what it is- a mutt

    Nothing… their both mutts.

Wait… a "teacup" Yorkie is a badly bred runt, where as a Yorkie-poo (which is a mutt) is a cross between a Yorkie and Poodle.

In either case, their both a waste of money when you can save a life from adopting a dog from a shelter or other rescue group.

Teacup Yorkie, or teacup anything = poorly bred dog, bred from sickly runts who don’t meet standard, nor are they genetically good enough to breed.

Yorkie poo= mutt. Yorkie Poodle mix.

Go to a shelter or rescue for a poodle mix and don’t waste your money on scams.

“Teacup” is a term used by back yard breeders and puppy mills to describe a pure but badly bred dog that is smaller than breed standard. Responsible breeders do not sell teacup versions of any breed.

“-Poo” dogs are mixes of various breeds and poodles. They are bred by back yard breeders and puppy mills to cash in on the current trend of “designer dogs” which are cross breeds with cutesy names. Responsible breeders, who only produce pure breeds for the maintenance and improvement of the breed, do not sell designer dogs.

So a teacup yorkie would be a dog who’s parents were both yorkies but were smaller than breed standard, and a yorkiepoo would be 1/2 yorkie and half poodle.

Teacup Yorkie is a Yorkshire Terrior bred to be smaller
Yorkie poo = yorkshire terrior mixed with poodle.

Anything with poo in the name is mixed with poodle…

    Shih-poo (Shihtzu, poodle)
    Cocka-poo (Cocker Spaniel, Poodle)

    Etc.

    Hope this helps.

    Nothing.

They are both bred in horrible conditions by people who abuse the parents for nothing more than money. Then they are both sold in pet stores that further abuse them for money. The money goes back to the puppy mills where they first came from, and the cycle starts all over agian.

The dogs are sickly, poorly bred, mutts and out of standard dogs.

“Teacups” is code for “runt”. Runts are the unhealthiest of the litter because of lack of nutrition. Lack of nutrition causes sicknesses that often can’t be cured without THOUSANDS of dollars in vet bills.

Anything-poo is an abomination to both breeds in question.

“Teacup” dogs- tiny dogs which have been purposely badly bred with other small runts to make them small and weak :(

“Poo” dogs- A dog which is a crossbreed with a poodle. Sometimes they just add “oodle” instead, for example, Labradoodles (Labrador x Poodles).

easy, usually a yorkie teacup is bred to be really tiny, and yes it is bad for their genetics, a yorkie poo is a cross between a yorkie and a poodle, which in this case would be the best choice as you shouldnt supporting a breed of dog that is poorly bred, which is the teacup yorkie

If it “comes in a teacup” you don’t want it!
That means it’s a runt — or very small. That generally occurs because of lack of nutrition or attention from the mother or perhaps even early illness. “Teacup” is a word backyard breeders use to make this dog more desirable so they can sell it for more money.

A “poo” means mutt. Plain and simple its another breed of dog mixed with a poodle. It’s probably going to be healthier than your “teacup” dog, but even that’s not guaranteed. Again, a “poo” is usually the result of a backyard breeder out to make money off of mutts.

If you want a mutt, go to the shelter.

There is no such a thing as a "teacup" anything, unless you're referring to what's on sale at the Royal Doulton store. Responsible breeders NEVER EVER breed these sickly, short lived runts; only backyard breeders and puppy mills pull this crap.

As for "Yorkie Poos" . . . Regardless of their claims, again, they are ALL backyard breeders and puppymills, as all they care about is money. They don't care about the thousands of dogs, purebred and mixed, young and old, that are literally dying as they wait for a new home. They also don't care about the health and temperament of the animals that they breed. By buying from these "breeders" or pet stores, people are supporting the puppy mill industry.

Here is where many "Poo" anything end up:
