Inbreeding of this type of dog has lead to all kinds of skin problems. Small dogs often have dental problems. These dogs can be very small and very costly. Several hundred dollars to purchase and several hundred dollars per year for shots and vetting and that's if the animal is healthy not to mention food toys and extras. To be taken care of properly any dog is expensive and not a decision to be made quickly.

There is no such thing as a teacup Yorkie. Before considering ANY breed of dog, I would suggest you thoroughly research and educate yourself on the breed first. No ethical, reputable breeder is going to purposely try to produce extremely small pups–responsible, good breeders place emphasis on health, temperament ad conformation to the standards rather than on size.
I can tell you as the owner of a 3 lb Yorkie that YES, they are extremely hard to care for. They are very prone to injury and have to be handled with the utmost care.
