I saw that there were toy and teacup yorkies were for sale, and I was wondering if they were the same or different. And since teacups aren’t healthy, are toy yorkies?
In that BOTH are LIES stuck on em by slimy crooks to SCAM the lazy gullible maroons,….
There’s NO SUCH THING as “teacup” OR “toy” YT.

Toy Yorkies come from the ToysRus stores.
Live Yorkshire Terriers do not because they are NOT TOYS!

teacup yorkies are smaller then toy yorkies. But you really dont want to get a teacup yorkie because they are very very delicate. if by accident you step on it, it could die! and you dont want that to happen!

There is only one approved standard size of Yorkie. Teacups and Toys are nothing but runts which are probably going to be unhealthy.
(Found that Toys’R'Us joke pretty funny though.

They are all unhealthy! There is only one type or Yorkie! The Yorkshire Terrier! Why do you want a dog under 4 lbs. I regular Yorkshire Terrier weighs 4-7 lbs, any thing under that is not even a real dog. Dogs are not accessories!

they are both super small sized yorkies, we used to call them runts. the names are interchangeable. although I have seen both advertised by the same byb. pretty sure they are just as unhealthy.

Teacup and Toy (in this breed) are the same – they’re runts. Yorkies only have one recognized general size and you should never buy from anyone claiming to have Teacup/Toy/Micro dogs.

There is NO such thing as a “teacup.” Teacup, is another word that Back Yard Breeders, and Puppy mills use for Runt.
Like you said, Teacups aren’t healthy. But, if you buy from a Reputable breeder, than A yorkie can be healthy. Just never buy from someone that claims to breed “teacups”
Best of Luck!

Toy Yorkies are fine, in the sense that they are Yorkshire Terriers belonging to the Toy group, but if they are coming from the same place as the "teacups", they are probably just as bad. No good breeder would breed "teacups". Period. They wouldn't even advertise their runts as such.
If you want a Yorkie, go through the breed club to look for reputable, responsible breeders. Check out my profile for links as to how to spot one. Or, safe a life and rescue.

there is no such thing as “toy” “teacup” “mini” “micromini” or any other size of yorkie. Its a label used by irresponsible breeders to sell unhealthy runts for a higher price.
Yorkies only come in ONE size, which is already small… 7 pounds or less.

hi,i have yorkie girl from reputable breeder, her breeding is from crufts winner etc but she is small, does that make her ‘unhealthy or a runt’? i agree that tea cups are just for people who just want to say ‘look what i have’ instead of really caring about what they have. i class my girl as the breed standard as thats her breeding but she is a miniature.
