Yea, they have alot of health problems, because of their size. I think mostly internal organs, and respiratory problems.

Often times they do have health issues, due to their size, or lack of it. the "teacup" is typically the runt of the litter, and are known for many physical problems.
References :
they are interbred hence the name tea cup poorly bred and born with a multitude of problems from over shot jaws, hernias, eye problems and hip problems,
its a risk buying one .

You call it a small dog. That's all. It's not "teacup" anything. Fitting into a teacup means nothing. It doesn't make it a cute new standard.
Yes, they do tend to have a lot of health problems because they're poorly bred, very fragile, and extremely small. Irresponsible breeders use these cutsie terms. If you see "teacup", it's a huge indication that this is a bad breeder and you need to run far away. They don't care for conformation, health, or temperament. They just want to breed the smallest dogs possible to sell for a thousand dollars. That cute little dog will end up costing you thousands more in vet bills alone before it gets to two years of age.
Please do not get one of these so-called "teacups". If you'd like to get a well-bred Yorkshire Terrier, that's fine, but not a "teacup" from an irresponsible backyard breeder or puppy miller.

Yes. Dogs marketed as 'teacups' are more prone to health issues than their properly sized counterparts…for a number of reasons. This article will outline some of them for you. It's really worth reading.

You already know but do it anyway? What do you call a dog that is only 3 lbs and can fit in a teacup? Ummm, how about a DOG? That dog could also fit in my shoe – but they're not called sneaker dogs.
As you probably already know, no responsible breeder will market a dog as a "teacup". If you bought a dog labelled "teacup", you bought from an irresponsible breeder. Since irresponsible breeders do no health checks on the parents, yes your dog could have health problems. Or it could be fine. Sorry, no guarantee!

a miniture! look it up! teacup might not be a dog but it is a comparing size so there actually such thing! you can contact the best breeders in the world and they will say teaup is a size of comparing, trust me. anyways a really small dog can have many health issues like, being to small. being too small the dogs lungs can close in because the body is so smal and the poor little dog wont be able to breathe. another health issue would be that the dog is so small again and that whenever the dog goes to jump it is most posible that their legs can break because they are so small. most of their health issues come from being so small. hope i could help!

they call them teacup but really what they mean is that they are the weekling of the litter (runt)…they do have alot of health issues!… yorkies in general though have a lot of health problems, i had a eight year old yorkie who sadly had to be put to sleep this march, she had kidney disease

i think they started "teacups" by breeding runts to runts so yes a lot of health problems.
i would call a dog under three pounds tiny.

I know tiny dogs are cute, but unfortunate they will have some serious problems and some do luck out and never have any problem
They are so cute and ppl can't refuse, but the vet bills wow
I have small breed but they are in the right weight range,7 and 8 lbs

Yes! They breed them so small that all their organs are mini.
There isn't any breed that's a teacup. It's just a way breeders get you to buy one.

"teacup" anythings tend to get sick alot. They are just poorly bred dogs who come from unhealthy parents. They are prone to hydrocephalus, hypoglycemia, liver shunt, seizures/epilepsy, vaccine reactions, heart murmurs, and many other diseases.
What do you call a 3 pound or less dog? Depends on the breed.. in your case, it is simply called a Yorkie. Yorkies are small dogs, the breed standard calls for them to be no more than 7 pounds.. even a 3 pounder fits that description.
