How Long Do Teacup Yorkies Live?

Please i need to know, i've just got one and i love it so much.
Also can you give me some tips of how to keep healthy and take care of.

ps: This is my first time with a puppy.

Okay let's stop berating people for calling a puppy T-cup. just because a parent club had someone make some snide remark years ago does not mean that we should not correct our behavior. The term T cup is disliked by show people because it was commonly used by breeders who don't show to denote small sized puppies. Often breeders of toy breeds that do not show have what a show person would call over sized dogs. the truth is that in the smaller breeds like yorkies poms and chihuahua what is shown is what people refer to as t cup. We show tiny dogs in those breeds They are NOT runts!! There are some instances that a tiny may have a problem however size does not necessarily mean that. There are other factors which lay people will most likely not recognize and size is not really a contributing factor.

Bottom line if the dog is healthy and maintained it should live a long time. Hopefully between 9 and 15 years depending on how it is fed etc.

my neighbor has a 2.5 pound one thats 14 years old, but it may be out of luck. Most "teacup" dogs will live shorter lives because of birth defects that cause them to become "teacup sized."

They can live up to 20 years. Get her on a good food (solid gold wee bit or hundchen is what I would do if I were you if you can't find it than merrick is just as good) and a multi-vitamin like seameal and exercise her for an hour a day. Get her spayed. Give her lots of love and train her. If you do all this and avoid accidents like open trash cans and running off leash in a city than she will live a long and happy life

Considering "teacup" is a fancy name for runt of the litter, possibly riddled with health problems, overpriced for irresponsible breeders to make more money, your Yorkshire Terrier could still live a full life. The lifespan of a Yorkshire Terrier is 10+ years, since it varies dog to dog.

Take a look at this site about the message for "teacups". It's fairly useful.

Could be 15-20 years as long as it is taken care of. Make sure to feed premium brand diet like Science Diet/Iams/Eukanuba. Go to the vet twice a year for check ups and vaccinations. As it gets older make sure to have dental cleanings done and bloodwork at least once a year. Keep it on Heartworm prevention all year round.

there is no such thing as a teacup yorkie or teacup anything for that matter. dogs labeled as "teacups" are runts of litters or offspring from runts of litters that are smaller as a pup but generally grow to be the same size as a "normal" size example of the breed. that is if they even reach maturity. many times these dogs are very sickely and frail and end up dying before they reach maturity

Not long- its the runt of a poorly bred litter and could live anywhere from another 2 weeks to 10 years its all luck of the genes.

Anywhere between 3-11 years. After all, he was the runt of the litter so his life expectancy can't be too long compared to other dogs. Congratulations on getting a dog though!

To keep them healthy, clean their teeth daily, brush their coat daily, keep their eyes clean, and keep their nails clipped. Good luck!

If there was such thing as a teacup yorkie, it would last as long as a regular yorkie would. Teacup is a name for runt.
