Teacup Yorkies

Teacup Yorkies or Yorkie Terriers?

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Where could I find a breeder or a place in MA or close to Dudley MA?
I preferably need a price under $750. So probably not a teacup. (If they even exist.) Please help find a lovable yorkie. Thank you soo much!
okay so not a teacup ovbiously. Just looked on the internet but again obiously can't find any.

I am confused a "teacup" yorkie, or a yorkie terrier.
If you will notice, the breed name is Yorkshire Terrier it is not a size definition in this case.
There is only one size of yorkie. If you get a teacup, you are being ripped off horribly as you would have just purchased a poorly bred runt for an outrageous price. On top of that there would be likely hefty vet fees.

Try the AKC website for a good breeder.
Or your local shelter may have some yorkies. Try petfinder.

Here's what it came up with for me

http://www.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?pet.Animal=Dog&pet.Breed=Yorkshire+Terrier&pet.Age=&pet.Size=&pet.Sex=&location=Dudley%2C+MA

Add: Aww Don't litter, I was just reading that one. That's so sad.

What Is the Difference Between Tiny Toy, Teacup, Pocket Size, Regular Yorkies?

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

I don't see what the difference is.
and also: where can i buy a cute yorkie puppy for $$500 or less???

The difference is how badly you want to get riped off. There is ONE standard for a yorkie. If the breeder is striving for it, don't buy form them.
Find RESPONSIBLE breeder. A responsible breeder will:

1) be breeding to the breed's standard..no teacup, micro, mini, imperial,
king, or other goofy term for runts or oversized dogs. No intentional
"rare", meaning unaccepted by the breed standard, colors either.

2) will be actively showing or working the parents.

3) will have genetic health testing done, such as OFA or PennHip, CERF,
VonWillebrand's, etc.

4) will give you the results of that testing in writing

5) insists on spay/neuter for pet pups.

6) has a contract citing the spay/neuter clause and also offering to take
back the pup at any time for any reason for the rest of its life.

7) is open, honest, and available to the new owner, and can talk aobut their
breed for hours.

8) does a home check before placing a pup, and will turn down homes that
might not be suitable for a pup of their breed.

9) does not put money above the well-being of their animals.

If the breeder you are considering doesn't fit these guidelines, fond a
better breeder. You are more likely to get a mentally and physically
healthier pup from a responsible breeder.

Teacup Yorkies What Do I Need to Know About Them?

Monday, February 9th, 2009

I will be getting a teacup yorkie soon and i was wondering if there is any medical things i should worry about? What do they like to do? What do they eat? Where could i find one for very cheap? Please help thank you!

What you need to know is there is no such size in any breed as a teacup.
If you decide to fall for this con then you had better save a heap of cash to pay for vet fees when the inevitable health problems begin.

Do Malteepoo Puppies Stay Small Forever Like the Teacup Yorkies They Dont Grow Big Right?

Friday, January 30th, 2009

It all depends on the size of the Sire/Dam

Of course you wouldn't have gotten to see either parent at the pet shop where you bought your puppymilled "designer dog"

The problem with a mutt/mongrel dog is nothing is certain:
Size/Temperament/Health etc.

The other point is there is NO SUCH THING AS A TEACUP anything!
They are simply a runt and a poor version of their breed!

http://www.barkrescue.net/teacup.htm

What if your dog does grow big – would that even matter??

Surely you got the dog and have fallen in love with the personality
not the fact that it may fit into your handbag!
A dog is a friend for life and not a fashion accessory.

If you haven't already got this dog – Don't get one you are already coming across as superficial and not worthy to be the owner of ANY dog!

How Are Teacup Yorkies?

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

how do i convince my parents to let me get a teacup yorkie instead of a shiba inu! do teacup yorkies yap alot????? are they bad with big dogs??? do they need a lot of care (not that im not willing to care for it). how much do they usually cost?

Teacup Yorkies don't exist. It's a fancy name for a bad breeder to label on a poorly bred Yorkie. They over charge and name it something cute to lure unsuspecting buyers into thinking they have something "special". Sure, special in it's vet needs, diet needs, exercise needs–special needs period.

A good Yorkie breeder would sell the smallest one for little money due to failure to fall within the breed standards.

How Do Teacup Yorkies Get So Small? ?

Monday, January 5th, 2009

I saw one puppy yesterday at a breeder that was barely a pound and she said she would weigh 2 – 3 pounds. How do they get to be so small? Are they genetically altered or something?

Breeders use poor breeding practices..

breeding runts to runts..

purposly breeding dogs with health problems that keep them smaller

poor nutrition during pregnancy and growth

early cecarians to deliver underdeveloped puppies

breeding the bitch twice during her heat cycle more than a week apart, so there are pups in the litter that are a week or more behind.. when the first set are ready to be born, she will give birth to all of them… resulting in some underdeveloped pups in the litter.

lying about the age of the puppy so that it seems small for its age compared to other puppies

Also many of these dogs are just small anyways.. so the breeders just slap the "teacup" label and lie about the adult size.. a breeder can NOT guarantee the exact size of the pup as an adult.

Do Teacup Yorkies Make a Lot of Noise?

Monday, December 29th, 2008

My apartment complex doesn't allow pets but I want one soooooo bad for my daughter so I was thinking about breaking the rules a little bit IF they don't make too much noise.

1st off there is no such thing as a teacup yorkie, Yorkies only com ein one size & teacup is jsut a fancy name byb's made up to sell the runts of the litter. They are prone to WAY more health problems than regular dogs & honeslty is you insist on buying one you are only settingyourself up for heartbreak & A LOT of vet bills.
2nd Yorkies tend to be yappy & can be VERY noisy especially puppies. My sis-in-law has 2 & they make TONS of noise!! Lol
