DOGS!!!!! @ 5:01 pm

There is no such thing as a teacup yorkie. There is such thing as a poorly bred unhealthy runt yorkie though.

They are runts. Anyone specifically breeding them should be shot.

http://www.akc.org/breeds/yorkshire_terrier/index.cfm This is the AKC page for Yorkie. Now read it and tell me if you see any mention of teacups. You wont.

There is no such thing as a teacup anything. A well bred yorkie is between 4 and 7lbs. Reputable breeders will not use the terms teacup micro micro mini tiny tiny toy pocket purse etc

Yorkies also do not come in parti colors either

Colors
Puppies are born black and tan and are normally darker in body color, showing an intermingling of black hair in the tan until they are matured. Color of hair on body and richness of tan on head and legs are of prime importance in adult dogs, to which the following color requirements apply:
Blue: Is a dark steel-blue, not a silver-blue and not mingled with fawn, bronzy or black hairs.

Tan: All tan hair is darker at the roots than in the middle, shading to still lighter tan at the tips. There should be no sooty or black hair intermingled with any of the tan.

Teacup is just a name for a sickly runt! Quite the opposite of healthy. Their bones are VERY fragile and can be broken by jumping off of a coach, falling off of a bed, being stepped on or worse. Teacup dogs are not a breed.

They come from nasty Bybs which you can read about here. Dog's are just profit to them and they don't give a ___ about the dog's health condition.

Here's a site all about teacups
http://www.barkrescue.net/teacup.htm
Puppy mills which you can read about here also

And sometimes they come from non reputable breeders!

Most females are bred on the ninth through the fifteenth day of their heat cycles. Eggs can be fertilized for up to 72 hours after any of these breeding's. Therefore, it is possible to have puppies conceived up to a week or so younger than the puppies first conceived in a litter. However, when the first puppies conceived are mature and ready to be born, labor starts and all the puppies will be born, no matter when they were fertilized.

Some of the problems that may be encountered are both genetic and congenital in these tiny babies and the list is a long one.

The risk of open fontanels (soft spot from the cranial bone not forming), portosystemic shunts (PSS- abnormal vessel that allows blood to bypass the liver. As a result the blood is not cleansed by one of the bodies filters: the liver.), hypoglycemia, cardiac problems, collapsing trachea, luxating patellas, Leggs Calves Perthes disease, seizures, hydroencephaly, blindness and digestive problems can be increased in these tiny babies.

Problems such as respiratory problems can remain or worsen throughout their lives. These babies frequently are so fragile that they do not live more than a few years. There have been several tiny Yorkies as adults who still had open fontanels and their owners had to carry nourishment with them all the time. Their vets have felt it unsafe to give a full dose of vaccine so the puppies had to get several injections to be on the safe side.

There is no such thing as a "tea cup" Yorkshire Terrier, Maltese, Poodle, or any other breed for that matter. They simply do not exist. "Tea-cup" is just a marketing ploy given by unethical and unscrupulous breeders to drive up the price of their puppies!

Unhealthy runts that most likely wont live through the first couple of years. Dont support BYB…you dont want to get your dog from a breeder who dosent give a shit about the puppies or parents.

I beg to differ with anyone who says there is not such a thing. There are a Standard, Toy and Teacup Yorkies. So are you also arguing that is not a Toy poodle. Are you saying they are runts to??? There is a big difference between being a happy health teacup sized puppy and a unhealthy runt. Ask your vet. My personal vet has a 2 lb Yorkie.

Wilson you have your information mixed up.. POODLES do come in Toy, Mini and Standard Sizes (but not "teacup")

YORKIES only come in ONE recognized size (and its definantly not called "teacup"!)

Anyone using the teacup label is not a reputable breeder. There are many irresponsible breeding practices used to achieve smaller sizes.. from breeding extra small dogs to small dogs… to providing poor nutrtion during pregnancy and whelping, to early cecarians to deliver underdeveloped pups.. etc. Its easy to see why many of these pups suffer serious health issues.

Some breeders also just use the "teacup" label on your average small-breed pup just for higher profit. Sure they are tiny as puppies.. they are small breed dogs, they are going to be tiny puppies!
