Adoption fees are not expensive
Also keep in mind that there are services set up for transporting dogs and puppies that are up for adoption to people that are in different states for a reasonable fee.

All I will say is that you had better be prepared with a very good vet and a big bank account. (See not rude!)

I would go with a healthy regular sized yorkie from a good breeder. You'll never find a responsible breeder breeding teacup dogs. You don't want a unhealthy runt.

excuse me?
there is NO such thing as a good healthy "teacup dog"
as seeing it is not a breed standard.
anyways wouldnt u be alot happier with a 4lb healthy yorkie?
hahah you cant find a good healthy teacup ANYWHERE
just buy a regular one they are not meant to be that small its sick. and you are not going to get any not rude answers here everyone here is normal and knows that those teacup dogs are just a scam,.

Sorry but teacups do not come healthly. And the title teacup comes with a price tag of at least $3000.

Unless you weigh like 20 lbs, a 5lb or even a 7lb yorkshire will fit perfectly fine in your lap……….
You can only find greeders for the type of dog you're looking for. So I can't help you out with any breeders..

why not try going to petfinder it's a rele good website it helps u find teacup yorkies in ur area from rescue shelters I rele want a lap dog too aren't they juss so adorable???? I luv melting into their eyes! and the cute little outfits and things u can buy them when they're babies! anyways it's far better to rescue a dog than to buy an overpriced cheap rele bad dog from a byb or a puppymill operator. anyways good luck with getting a puppy!

i think that regular pups are just as cute and they are most definitely lap doggies without being teacup
well i have a tea cup chihuahua (:
but thats another story

You will never find a reputable breeder selling anything "teacup". What you will find are puppy mills and back yard breeders trying to scam you.
That's not rude, that's the truth.

Why on earth do you want to support the breeding of unhealthy dogs? Sorry, but wanting a "girly lap dog" isn't a good enough excuse for them to bred. Responsible breeders will sometimes get a smaller sized pup, but they will never, ever breed it and will sell it with a spay/neuter contact.
A statement from the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America:

You can get a fine Yorkie for far cheaper than $3,000 here:

If you live too far away from a dog, you may be able to arrange transportation (Google "rescue dog transport").
RESPONSIBLE breeder/rescue contact information:

And please don't consider this rude, consider it informative.

I have recently been searching for a small chihuahua so I know what you are wanting :-). However, it is very difficult to find a very small dog and there are a lot of people who will try to rip you off. You need to be aware that:
1. A undersized dog is usually nothing more than the runt of the litter, so just because you know someone with one doesnt mean that they can be bred as such. And as runts, they will often have quite severe health problems and wont live very long.
2. People advertising "teacups" are selling 8 week old puppies. Of course they are "tiny" at that age. However, there is no guarantee that that puppy wont grow into a normal size dog. So you will pay a lot of money for nothing (you will pay 2-3 times the amount you could have paid for the same dog from a reputable breeder).
3. The best way to get a small puppy is to obtain one from a litter where the parents are small dogs. Chihuahuas for instance range from 1 to 5 kg. A mother and father both under 2kg will likely have smaller puppies than a mother and father in the 3-5kg range. So check out both parents. But even this is no guarantee, as the puppy can throw back genetically to the grandparents who may have been larger.
4. Check online for a breed-based puppy weight guide, and check against the weight for age. For instance a chihuahua puppy weighing 1kg at 13 weeks is expected to weigh 2kg when fully grown.
5. The only way to guarantee a very small dog is to get an adult dog from a registered breeder who shows - they will often retire their little dogs and sell them, as they will deem them too small to breed from. So contact registered breeders in your area, or across the country (most will ship the dogs interstate)
