Teacup yorkies vs. morkies?

I'm interested in buying one of these dogs. The only reason I don't like the regular yorkies is the way they look when they are full grown. I like the features they have when they are young. Does the Morkies look the same full grown as they do when they are younger? I really don't care about the size, like if it gets bigeer or not. I'm not interested in it because it's small. I like the face features so if anyone knows of any pictures of full grown Morkies that would help. Thanks.

A morkie is a mix breed between Yorkshire Terrier and the Maltese. I always heard that mix breeds have less problems then full breeds do. If you go to the pound they have all kinds of mixed breeds and they will also tell you that they will have less problems. I will say this though. I would not pay $500 to $800 or more for a mixed breed. If i was you i would go to my local pound. You may even find a morkie there or one that you like better plus you may save ones life. As for teacup that is something that someone made up cause they are so small and of course it makes money and yes small dogs can have problems. All small dogs can have problems. They have more of a chance with certain problems such as heart murmurs and so on. I know someone who owns a morkie and she looks like a teddy bear and i can see why that look makes you like them. She is so cute. I just love her. As far as i know their looks never change and there size is always around 5 pounds.

edit: After i read this it seemed like i was trying to tell you what to do. That is not what i was doing. I was only telling you about the dog and what i would and would not do. I hate the internet sometimes.

Morkies are mixed breeds. By definition a purebred breeds true to type. This means that a Yorkie will look like a Yorkie. A dog whose parents are two different breeds, can look like a huge range of dogs… from almost purebred Yorkie to almost purebred Maltese (in looks) and everything in between. There's no guarantee about what the dog will look like when you get a Morkie or any other designer dog. The best you can do with a Morkie or any other mixed breed is to look at pictures and guess that a dog that you get MIGHT look something like that. There's just no way to know with mixed breeds.

A well-bred Yorkie should be small (under seven pounds). Some poorly-bred Yorkies are larger because the owner wants to make more money from the larger litters and easier births of Yorkies that are 3-4 times the size they should be.

There is no such thing as a "teacup" dog. It's a term used by bad breeders to sell more dogs. Generally the so-called teacups are undersized to an unhealthy size. They often develop serious health problems so I really wouldn't recommend getting a dog labeled as such.

An excellent place to find responsible Yorkie breeders is from the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America. http://www.ytca.org/breeder1.html

Good luck!

do not get a "tea cup" yorkie that is just a sign they are unhealthy and will most likly have heath problems. and because morkies are a mix breed you can not tell what they will look like depending on how much of what they have in them but i would reccomend yorkies all the way they can be little yippers but they are AMAZING dogs i am more of a big dog person (i have 2 labs) but if i was to get a small dog i would defanatly chose a yorkie

Uh, there is no such thing as a "morkie", nor a "teacup" Yorkie.
So when you say that you do not like the size of the "regular" Yorkie, I do not know what you mean. Yorkies should not be less than 5 pounds, no more than 8, so how could you possibly want anything smaller??
There is no such thing as an eternal puppy, unless you get a stuffed puppy toy. Maybe you should consider that instead.

There is such a thing as a Yorkie, but "teacup" is only a marketing term backyard breeders and puppy mills use to sell their dogs for more moolah.
There is no breed called the "morkie". You can find a yorkie/maltese mix, usually at the animal shelter or through a rescue group.
Again, byb's and pm's are calling these mixes "morkies" so they can sell them as a "purebred" and for more money.
All they are, are mutts. No more, no less.

If you are really interested in a Yorkie, you should consider rescuing one, as there are thousands of needy, homeless Yorkies, many many of them purebred, at local animal shelters and through breed rescue groups.

If you purchase a "morkie" or a "teacup" yorkie, you are only supporting a backyard breeder or puppy mill, because only money-hungry, irresponsible breeders sell dogs called these things.
And doing so would be a very stupid thing to do.

if you want a runt or a mix breed get one from a shelter!Responsible breeders only breed regular yorkies.

a "teacup" yorkie looks the same as an "regular" yorkie when they are grown… because they are the same thing! There is no such thing as a "teacup".. its only a label used by BYB's and puppy millers for unhealthy runt puppies. When you google "teacup" yorkie, you get alot of pics of puppies, not adults.

A "Morkie" is no such thing. Its a mutt. None of them look the same. They are a mix of Maltese and Yorkie.

I would not buy a dog from anyone who breeds "teacups" or mutts. They are not selling quality dogs and are only breeding for profit.

Try http://www.petfinder.com to find some small cute dogs that are in rescue or shelters. You can save a life that way too.

There are no such breeds. You're asking about runts verses mutts. Why would you spend big bucks on dogs that aren't worth much?

Adopt.
