I have looked through loads of websites, but none of them seem genuine!
Does anyone know of a good website in which they have bought a dog from themselves?
I live in the UK – I Just thought I’d let everyone know ![]()
I would buy a dog from a shelter, but my mum prefers a puppy since they can be trained easier.
Otherwise I would ![]()
A genuine teacup is an oxymoron, as a Yorkshire Terrier tightly breed to the breed standard would not be abnormally tiny, & is the reason why you will never find a good breeder advertising dogs of their breeding as "teacup".
http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/199
"Teacup" is either misleading advertising to appeal to gullible purchasers that an undersized dog is special by virtue of its diminutive size or is used by a back yard breeder/puppy farmer that cherry picks the tiniest example of the breed for their breeding program, to appeal to people who think teacup is cute.
If you want a Yorkshire Terrier contract the breed club & ask for contact information of breeders who genetically health dog of their breeding, tightly breed to & have their dogs judged against the breed standard & put a rock solid temperament, with strong nerves at the top of their wish list.

Why buy a dog? There are tons of dogs that need homes just waiting to be adopted =(

Since there is no such size as teacup in any breed of dog, you won’t find any responsible breeder of teacup Yorkies.
Only back yard breeders and puppy mills call their runts of the litter teacup size so they can con more money out of the uneducated buyer. It’s a ‘come in sucker’ situation.

let me just say, teacup terriers, do not really exist, its just a normal yorkshire terrier bred to be small.. i have recently just sold 5 yorkshire terriers or i would have offered you the sale of on of mine, you cannot be 100% sure that the site u are on is genuine, email are good use of contact also telephone, do not pay for the dog online, cash in hand is a good way of knowing they are genuine, and dont pay unless you have seen the puppies etc

NONE EXist. Nobody selling a dog with a silly made-up name of teacup anything is genuine or reputable.

Period.
However, I got my friend the cutesiest real one here for her birthday and less than $15!

You can’t find any genuine sites because teacup – any breed – do not exist.
A typical Yorkshire Terrier should not weigh more than 7lbs anyway.
Anyone advertising puppies as "Teacups" is not a knowledgeable or responsible breeder.
To find a reputable breeder, look for your nearest breed club (listed at the bottom of this page:)

and they can put you in touch with good breeders of healthy pups.
This is an American article on "teacup" Yorkies – but it applies to this country as well:

There are no genuine websites where you can buy a "teacup" yorkie.
Teacups are not genuine dogs bred by responsible yorkie breeders.
If you want a decent yorkie then go through the proper channels and go through either the kennel club or champdogs. Even then you need to do your homework on the breedline.
But…………. please forget the name TEACUP…. as all you’ll get is a sickly runt that can end up costing thousands of pounds.
References :
No, because "teacup" yorkies don’t exist they are poorly breed runts bred from poorly bred runts and a BYB scam. Responsible breeders don’t sell puppies on websites

no such thing as a teacup. if you want a yorkie, then get a proper sized one. not a sick runt, thats all they are

As other posters have said, Teacup Yorkies aren’t a real breed, and therefore any breeder who sells them is going to be dodgy, so I would seriously reconsider getting one. How about just a regular Yorkie? They’re still pretty small and will be much, much healthier. Although Teacup Yorkies can look cute, they can develop a lot of health problems because of their small size and poor breeding and it’s really horrible having a sickly dog.
Here’s a link to the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America: http://www.ytca.org/breeder1a.html
There you will be able to find a responsible breeder who breeds healthy dogs.
If you find a breeder you like, go visit them and make sure you like them and their dogs before you sign up to buy one of their puppies.
Some things to look for in a breeder:
They give their puppies out at no earlier than 8 weeks of age
Make sure they do not over breed. Most good breeders will only breed 1-2 times a year.
How are the conditions of their dogs? Are they treated well and kept in clean, healthy conditions?
Make sure they are willing to provide a lot of support to you. Many breeders will want their puppy back if you for some reason need to give them up. If a breeder does not do this, I would not suggest them.
EDIT: Sorry, I just read that you are from the UK. Here’s another breeder referral list:

There are no good or genuine breeders of "teacup" dogs – they all are backyard breeders or puppy mills that are breeding undersize dogs, poor health, high medical bills and ripping off people with a scam.
Yorkies come in ONE size – small – and if the breeder is not breeding to the written standard and breeding healthy dogs, you don’t want to buy from them.

May I suggest that you contact a Kennel Club registered breeder and ask for the runt of the next litter.

there’s no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie. Yorkies only come in ONE SIZE. "teacup" is a scam marketing label to sell a sickly runt for a high price tag.
Try contacting the people on this page.. they can refer you to reputable breeders..

All so called Teacup dogs are bred by backyard breeders. They have a runt in a litter and advertise for another runt to mate with their runt and they produce small puppies.
Although the term "runt" is a disparaging term for small mammals, it is also indicates that runts are weak and sickly. Forget looking for a Teacup dog which by the nature of things have huge health problems. Look for an experienced Yorkie breeder who sells healthy dogs which are the normal size.
