i need information on teacup yorkshire terriers?
i need a dog that is small and doesnt shed much. can anyone tell me about teacup yorkshire terriers?? please and thank you
Everyone else is right. The yorkshire terrier comes in ONE size. The "teacup" label is just a costly gimmick thought up by BYB so they can charge more for their unhealthy poorly bred dogs. They are doing a great disservice to the yorkie breed in general.
Buy as far as a yorkie goes, they are great dogs. All dogs "lose hair," but humans do too! I would say that my yorkies loses hair, he doesn't shed like a GSD does. Yorkies only have one coat of hair. I keep my little guy in a puppy cut and I dont have to even brush him. I do give him a bath every 10 to 15 days.
But they need to know who's boss right off the bat, as most dogs need to be shown. They are very smart and fairly easy to train if you are consistant. I am in the process of getting my yorkie to have his CGC certicication (canine good citizen) so we can continue on to a therapy dog certification. He has a great temperment and loves kids and other dogs. But he has been socalized around both of those since I brought him home. He loves to have company and we tell people that he's going to audition as a Wal-Mart greeter. He's always happy to meet new people!

There's no such thing as a "teacup" anything… Yorkies only come in ONE size.
Yorkies are small dogs at 7 pounds or less. They do shed, but they shed minimal amounts… they do need to be groomed daily tho to prevent matting.
"teacup" is just a term used by irresponsible breeders to sell a runt for a high price!
Chihuahuas do not come in "teacup" sizes either.. Chihuahuas are 6 pounds or less.. how can something be "smaller than regular" if there is no minimum size range???

I can tell you that they dont exist and its only a marketing scam to con people into buying the runts of litters.

They do not exist, and dog marketed as a teacup is poorly bred and is likely to be unhealthy.

ADD: People SELL smaller dogs as 'teacups'. It is just a stupid made up term, that doesn't make it "real" as far as being meaningful. It is a gibberish meaningless advertising term, just like goldendoodle.

There is No such thing as a Teacup Dog.
But, there is a Purebred Yorkshire Terrier.

Back Yard Breeders try to make a few extra dollars by calling there dogs "teacups." It is a scam. 'Teacup' dogs are poorly bred runts, with major health problems. Yorkie's are small as it is. Never buy from anyone who claims to breed teacups. You will just lose your money.
Instead, try to adopt on http://www.petfinder.com
Good Luck!

Heres some information, Teacup breeds do not exist.

teacup is just a term used to describe very small dogs. yorkies are great dogs but they do shed like every other animal. i would suggest a short haired dog instead.

Yes, as everyone has mentioned, there is no such thing as a 'teacup' Yorkie. It is typically a marketing term used by unethical breeders or breeders who are uninformed on the breed in general. Avoid any breeders who claim to have "teacups" at all costs.
