Can a Female Teacup Yorkie (Yorkshire Terrier) Breed With a Male Jack Russell Terrier?

Friday, December 4th, 2009

My friend has a female Teacup Yorkie and I have a Male Jack…I am just curious as to if they could breed…could they?
Keep in mind it is a TEACUP yorkie!! So I don’t know if it would be healthy to do with an average sized jack?
Thanks!

can they? yes
should they? no
With the size difference, chances are very high that the female will run into whelping problems and need a c-section. it’s just not worth the risk.

Is There Such Thing as "teacup" Yorkshire Terrier?

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

hi, is there such thing as a teacup, minature or toy yorkshire terrier or is there just standard yorkshire terrier. i’m a little confused because some peaple say there are and some people say theres only one size of yorkshire terriers.

No, Yorkshire Terriers are already tiny. Teacup just means they were bred to be runts. Dont buy one of those dogs labeled teacup, they often are very pricey and have numerous health problems. There is only 1 size of Yorkshire Terriers.

How Much Does a Adult Teacup Yorkshire Terrier Weigh?

Friday, November 13th, 2009

How big will they get?
How much do they eat?
What is ther bladder tolerence?

They weigh very little
They eat nothing
They have no bladder retention
They sit on shelves or in cupboards.

If you are talking about dogs…….. They are the runts and the sickest of the litters, that Puppy Millers have named something cute to con buyers into paying extraordinary prices for ill-bred dogs

How Expensive Is It to Buy/ Take Care of a Puppy 1) Teacup Yorkshire Terrier or 2) Pomeranian?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

all answers are appreciated, thank you

Well if you fall for the " tea cup" act then you will be out a lot of money. First of all, there isn’t a tea cup yorkie or of any breed! There is only 1 size of yorkie and thats under 7 pounds. There’s no other size standards!

2. Those so called "tea cups" are usually very sick! Watch out for behavioral problems as well!

3. Both breeds will be expensive if you buy from a RESPONSIBLE breeder. Sure you might find some scum breeders(back yard breeders) that offer then a little cheaper then the RESPONSIBLE ones but in the end you might be forking over an additional $500+ in vet bills as they usually have parents that have no genetic testing…and usually have something and passes the bad genes in the pups!

So buy responsibly and you might not have to have a fortune in vet bills from a sickly poorly bred dog!

And you can also try shelters and breed rescues. Believe it or not, you can get a purebred in shelters/breed rescues! And don’t fall for the "designer breed" crap either. No responsible breeder will breed mutts and call them names like " yorkiepoos" cockapoo"etc. Mutts are mutts, no matter the freaking names you call them. Shelters have lots of them and guess what…….they are not overpriced!

try petfinder. you can search local shelters for the breeds you specified.

http://www.petfinder.com/index.html

Responsible breeders don’t use craiglist, or any scum websites.

Your best bet would be looking going to the breed club of each breed and seeing what breeders are listed there. Responsible breeders usually have several titled parents, genetic testing( OFA,CERF,etc)

and thanks

I’m just curious. When you typed this question, did 1000 other questions *exactly* like this one not pop up?

In fact, I KNOW I answered this exact question a few days ago from someone in Houston, TX.

No such thing as a teacup of any breed.
Well bred puppies cost $1000 minimum
16 year olds cannot legally purchase dogs.

If your FAMILY wants a tiny yorkie, go to http://www.petfinder.com and http://www.ytca.org to see if one is available in your area.

Added: http://answers.yahoo.com/search/search_result;_ylt=AthEX13KqoemWGlxWHly21Lpy6IX;_ylv=3?p=teacup+yorkie not a bad guess. 1050 questions.

Im Getting a Teacup Yorkshire Terrier Soon. Any Tips?

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Im really excited to finally be getting a dog after all these years. Its been a goal of mine for a long time and Im happy to be introducing it to the family. I need some tips!
Wow, really? Thanks for the heads up! Also, Is there a specific name for a terrier mix who’s tail has not been docked? I don’t wish to own an animal who has been tampered with – Its almost abusive to tweak the appearance of one.

Aside from all the teacup stuff, you could always just get a yorkie and ask the breeder to skip the docking on your pup. Most breeders should be willing to comply if you’re not buying a show puppy =]

But, if you’re still thinking of going to the breeder with the "teacup" runts, you definitely need to find a different breeder who actually knows what they’re doing. Its really great to see someone who actually listens when people say there’s no such thing as teacups though! Most people just go, "noo, its just really rare!" So kudos on that =]

Spiritually Speaking; Is It Wrong to Kick a Teacup Yorkshire Terrier?

Monday, July 27th, 2009

I was walking to my car, and this stupid little fleabag of a dog races away from its owner (who of course did the stupid owner-trick of yelling meekly at the thing) and comes racing up to me, runs into my leg and tries to bite me.

I really like dogs, but I have my limits.

Would I be wrong to turn around and boot this thing (not too hard, just enough to give it some air) if it does it again?

WWJD?

I don’t think that would be wrong.

When lived in NYC, I’d see people walking these and similarly freakishly small yappy dogs around. I started calling them twirly dogs. That’s because I always wanted to grab the leash about halfway up, twirl it over my head, and let go.
