Teacup Yorkie/yorkshire Terrier?

do teacup yorkie would remain teacup size even he is old?
guys!thanks for answering…your answers really help me a lot to decide!thanks….have a great day!

Since most teacup puppies are just the result of breeding runts to other runts and they tend to be very unhealthy, they probably won’t live long enough for you to worry about it =]

Yes, runts will always be small in size. No such thing as TeaCup, unless it’s made of China.

Usually they don’t get to be “old” since they are badly bred runts and don’t live very long! Please get a “regular” yorkie, 4-7 lbs.

Yes, some of the very small Yorkies will stay extremely small. I wouldn’t recommend getting one of these though because these dogs that are extremely small have trouble staying healthy and regulating body temperature. Dogs just aren’t supposed to be that little, they turn out sickly.

yes, but here is no such thing as teacup dog. it’s just a dog that was born really small and not healthy. and teacup dogs only live up to 8 years while normal sized dogs live up to 15 or more.. if u want small dog, why don’t u get a chihuahua instead of ‘teacup’ dog. besides, if something happens to the teacup dog, vetenarians can’t do anythig but just put it down. because they can’t do surgery on it’s small body. so think about it, and get a real dog.

There’s no such thing as “teacup” in any breed. It’s just a fancy term for runt-of-the-litter. A responsible breeder would never use “teacup” to describe small puppies. That’s all they are. Small. They’re not special, and they’re not a new standard.

There’s no guarantee for weight. You could start with a runt of the litter and as it grows, it could mature to be bigger than its siblings. There’s a good chance that if you get a small puppy, it will grow to not be too large, though. So, a small yorkshire terrier could grow into a small adult, but there’s no guarantee.

Yes! Growth stops at about a year of age. After that the only “growth” would be sideways if the dog’s overfed.

But I must ask, what is the deal with Teacup anythings. They are nothing but runts and are often unhealthy. Our dogs do not need us to do them any more dis-services.

Yes, that's why they are called teacup. It should not get more than 3 pounds to be considered a teacup pet. Teacup isn't really a breed specification, it is just some breeders creative way to try to gouge more money out of you. Buy the regular sized yorkie. Teacup sized animals are not usually healthy. You wouldn't be able to show it, you shouldn't breed it, and it won't be sturdy enough for a family if you have one.
