What Kind Of Puppy Should I Get?????
I am getting a puppy soon and have researched the breeds but I am still not sure what breed to get..I have narrowed it down to,
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel,
Boxer,
Yorkshire Terrier (maybe teacup)
If there is a breed that you think is better than these please let me know as I want it to be a very friendly dog, and if you think one of the ones i have put down, which one!!???
Thanks!
:o)

CKC's - very low key dog. After age one, pretty much lap pups. (that's what they were bred to be) If you want to have a therapy dog, this breed is great. They do require daily brushing but are not yappers. Really nice little dogs

Yorkies - first, there is no such thing as a teacup; this is a term unscrupulous breeders use for tiny dogs that have been bred down in size. Remember generally speaking the smaller the dog within its breed the more likely it is to have health problems. Anyone breeding for tiny size often throws out other considerations, like genetic defects. They can be yappy. The mistake most people make with a yorkie is to treat it like a baby, carry it everywhere and then the dog is afraid of everything. These are terriers, by gum! - tiny terriers, yes, but still terriers. They need to be treated like dogs (I don't mean that in a bad way) You do have to be careful not to step on them.

Boxer - whole other end of the spectrum, you have to be careful they don't step on you. They are a great family dog but because of their size REQUIRE obedience classes. They are incredibly smart; clowns with a remarkable sense of humor, loving and loyal. They love to romp so again the opposite end of the spectrum from the CKC. Prone to heart problems so be sure and use a reputable breeder.

Cavalier king charles Spaniels are very smart and adorable. I am not a fan of the yorkshire terrier I have just met some that were the small yippy, aggressive type so it has turned me off to that breed. Boxers are also a great breed with intelligence and a great family dog. I think that you just need to decide what size dog will suit you and then you can decide between the boxer and the spaniel.

get a dog which fits in your house perfectly…..some dogs require a large space to run around while some dont need much.
i think any of these dogs will do but if you want a real freindly one then get a lab or a golden retriever.
if you want one who will guard the house and still be freindly, get a dalmation or a pitbull or a german shephard.
if you want a dog who will be great with kids, a daschund, terrier or lab/golden retriever or pitbull
in any case all these dogs are suitable and make fine pets

Have you considered going to the shelter???? they have some wonderful dogs/puppies there.. a mixed breed dog is great!! I have always had them… they are grateful to you for getting them out of the horrible shelter…. they have less medical problems and you would be saving a life!!! check out your local shelter prior to making your decision… pleeeease… you wont be sorry… it will so tug at your heart strings… tell the shelter what you expect out of a dog/pup and tell them what "you" have to offer…. they are usually great at helping you narrow it down to something that will fit in your lifestyle… GOOD LUCK!!!
