are teacup yorkies and just plain yorkies the same?
is there any difference between teacup yorkshire terriers and just plain yorkshire terriers?
Teacup anythings are a scam by backyard breeders to sell their runt and undersized, unhealthy puppies for higher prices. There is no such thing as a "teacup" of any breed, especially not a toy breed, which is already a tiny dog.

yup. I would avoid breeders that advertise that they have teacups. The smaller the more frail and costly.

"Teacup" is a marketing term used by unethical breeders in order to con stupid people.
A "teacup" is nothing more than an ill-bred, sickly runt. They usually have health problems, which means that not only do the idiots who buy them shell out big bucks for a "teacup" dog, they shell out big bucks to the vet to keep their "teacup" dog alive.
The only winner is the scumbucket breeder, who keeps churning out "teacup" puppies for stupid people to buy.
Aren't trends wonderful?

a "teacup" is what people call puppies that are under the breed's standard weight. For example: Chihuahuas' breed standard is 2 to 6 lbs, so any Chihuahua under 2 lbs would be called a teacup. It is not necessarily "backyard breeders" who have teacup puppies. They are basicly "runts" though. That doesn't mean they aren't healthy, they are just small. I believe the minimum for the Yorkie breed standard is 4 lbs.

"Teacup" is the term given to a dog that is breed smaller than the breed standerd is supposed to be. "Teacup" varieties are the result of breeding abnormally small dogs together to keep reducing the size of the offspring. These dogs often have health problems due to their size and weight being less than normal. A "teacup" of any breed is usually the result of breeding to make money plain and simple. The vast majority of people who deliberately breed in this manner are irreputable and have no interest in preserving the bloodlines or the breed in general, they are wanting your money with no regard to the dogs they breed nor the puppies produced. Most are what is referred to as "backyard breeders" and puppy mills.

actually i love dogs and no everything about them a teacup yorkie is actually the same as normal yorkies and a teacup is a diff size dog most dogs come in teacup, normal , or giant

anything listed as "teacup" is much more likely to be sickly and come from unscrupulous and unethical "breeders".
Honestly, a regular Yorkie is between 4 and 7 lbs. Is it really necessary to make them any smaller?

Nothing other than quality….
"teacups" are poorly bred runts that are bred down from poor quality dogs that are too large for the breed. Most end up the CORRECT size for a yorkie, but often have horrible health and temperament problems.
The yorkshire terrier standard says they are not supposed to be over 7 lbs. A lot of "show" dogs are between 4-6lbs. Any smaller and your looking at SERIOUS health issues.
So no, teacups are an idicator word for poorly bred. You usually get stuck paying ten times what they're REALLY worth and often "teacups" end up OVER the standard anyway. The breeders lie because they have no ethics to begin with.
Save your money and buy a well bred dog from show lines. You can say you have a dog from champion parents with all the benefits that come from owning a quality dog AS WELL AS having a temperamentally, physically sound dog that's not going to cost you a fortune in vet bills. They're usually the same price.
I googled it. 4 out of 5 of the sites I found sell these inbred, sickly dogs for $500-$1000 more than a quality purebred from champion parents…. ridiculous.

No such thing as a teacup yorkie. There are only Yorkshire Terriers, that's it. A "teacup" is from a bad breeder that has repeatedly bred runts that more than likely have bad health in order to get more runts on purpose.
