I have a 3 year old teacup Yorkshire Terrier and he will not stop BARKING! I've tried everything! Please help!

Get a bottle of water and vinegar. The vinegar will not hurt them they just really don't like the smell. (We checked it out with a dog expert.) Let him bark once or twice so he can feel like he did his job of protecting you. If he barks more than twice spray him every time after that.

Have ya tried a training class?

Tons of people think their "teacups" and "pocket dogs" dont need training, but they actually need it more than larger dogs do!

Hmmmm i know ur pain lol

well try a muzzle?
bang pots and pans whenever he barks and make sure you dont look at him or he will think you are a bad thing…

THat should work.

Good luck, if it doesnt work then call your vet, they may have a better suggestion.

I have done this with my cats and dogs. Its not mean. Its just gettin there attention. Get a small spray bottle and fill up with warm water only and spray them, but not in the face. And only when he barkin like that. Just don't be one of those people and get carried away for real.
GOOD LUCK

Have you tried using a loud noise?
Bang a pan or get an airhorn from a sporting good store.

Use the noise to distract the dog briefly.

Praise the dog the instant it's quiet.

Only pay attention to the dog when it's quiet. Randomly and frequently praise the dog only for shutting it's mouth.

Read Barking: The Sound of a Language by Turid Rugaas . It may help you understand what is causing your dog to bark, and how to prevent it.

Unfortunately, poorly bred dogs, such as teacup anythings, often were not well socialized as pups and become barkers.

He may also be exhibiting boredom barking Make sure he has things to do, both mental and physical stimulation.

There's a magazine called "Dogs Life" which retails for $6.95 and in issue 82 Mar/Apr '07 they had a training special.
This had a very good part on barking or stopping it from happening.
Dogs Life is publlished by Universal Magazines, Unit 5, 6-8 Byfield St, North Ryde, NSW, 2113. Tel: 02-805-0399
Email: Gail Gilmore "ggilmore@universalmagazines.com.au".
Hope this helps you.
