Here is a site that will show you which dog foods are the best and the worst. I suggest that you get any one of the dog foods that are top rated.

Most of grocery store dog food formulas, like IAMS, Pedigree, Science Diet, Purina, and etc contain "meat and bone meal" which has been known to contain dead dogs and cats that were euthanized in animal shelters. Their bodies are picked up and bought by the truck load by "rendering plants" , that also pick up road kill, dead live stock, and etc. They are shredded, and boiled. They skim off the fat on the top of the "soup" and collected it and sell it to pet food companies as "animal fat", the rest of the animals' remains are crushed up, dried and sold to dog and cat food companies as meat and bone meal.
You can read more about it here.

Here is an article where the owner of a rendering plant talks about it. He says that cremating the dead shelter animals would cause pollution, and that rendering them is good.

No such thing as a teacup

First, are his teeth still OK?
Make sure he can eat kibble. Does he eat anything else but wet food?
You can fatten him up by giving him more portions of food per day. Puppy food formula will help him gain weight faster since there is a higher % of fat.

Teacup yorkies are going to be small, and skinny. But wet food isn't that bad for Yorkies. If you want it to gain wait, feed it twice a day, one cup of food. Organic dog food makes dogs healthy, maybe you should try that.

Teacup dogs are prone to serious medical problems. The first thing I would do is take him off of Science Diet. Vets prescribe this because they get money when it's bought. But it's a very low quality, unhealthy dog food, and a lot of dogs don't like it. Also, do you soak the dry food in water to make it soft? It may hurt his teeth if he eats dry food. Put some high quality wet food (just a little bit) in with his dry food and see if that will make him want to eat.

when we got my puppy she wouldnt eat dry food she would need it dampened with water but the reason was her teeth werent falling out as they should have been so she couldnt chomp on meat or biscuits.

For some reason, Yorkie's aren't leaders, they're followers. If you have another dog or if your neighbor or friend has a dog or something, and your Yorkie won't eat, feed the other dog some of his food. He'll think it's ok, and he'll eat it, at least that's what my Yorkie does. Or most yorkies will only eat table scraps. Try giving him table scraps. Our Yorkie, Mickey Mouse, absolutely LOVES table scraps. He'll eat them anytime at all! Yorkies are just picky dogs, i don't know why. You think of Terriers as FOOD CRAZY and Yorkies are sometimes, but they can be very picky too. Our Yorkie isn't a big fan of dry food or even wet food, but he'll jump up on a 2-3 foot chair to get chicken or steaks. He's crazy but picky sometimes. and if you just got him, give him some time. Eventually, he'll eat. Our dog when we got him just sat there and went into his crate. He refused to eat! But now he's much better, and he's crazy. He barks a lot though, so beware of that - neighbors will complain! Hope this helps!
I love Weims

i have a Weimaraner and a Yorkie who is very picky, but follows our Weim everywhere.
try getting some of the vitagravy to pour over the dry food & see if your yourkie will it that way. good luck w/it.

I would say either mix a little wet food with the dry food to slowly wing him off the wet food, or put a little bit of water in the dry food to make it soft and slowly stop doing that.
I know your not suppose to feed dogs human food, but my friend has a little dog that was all bones when they got him. They feed him regular dog food, but also hotdogs to try and fatten him up, and now he is very healthy looking. Maybe try that?
Good Luck!
