Teacup Yorkie?
Are teacup yorkshire terriers avaliable In Australia, Because I am dieing to bet one but my mom says you only get them in America.
Hmmm….if your mom's right, my respect for Aussie dog breeders just went up substantially.
Yeah, unfortunately here in America we have folks who are dumb enough to pay big money for an undersized runt….and we have breeders greedy enough to deliberately breed for unhealthy, undersized animals so they can collect on that money. But, I'd be willing to bet there might be a few idiots like that down Under, too.
No good breeder actually breeds "teacups" on purpose…..they may have an occasional runt but it's not desirable. Taking a dog that's already ridiculously small and making it SMALLER is just inviting problems. Prolapsed eyeballs, brittle bones, brain problems, malformed or non functioning internal organs, missing/incomplete tooth structure…the list goes on.
For the life of me, I can't understand why a 4 to 7 pound dog isn't small enough for people. WHY would you want anything smaller- so you can step on it in the middle of the night? So you can set rat traps to catch it if it ever gets lost? So it can sleep in a slipper & guard under the bed from dust bunnies?
If a 4 pound dog is too big, get a rat….they're smarter & healthier than any puppymill teacup dog. (Seriously….they do make awesome pets).

Please don't get a "teacup" it's not a breed, it's a name used to disguise what they really are -sickly ill-bred runts thats will cost you triple what you pay in vet bills alone (and they DON'T come cheap) Please, get a healthy toy breed, you will just carry on this sick trend. People are out to scam you, and don't care about the welfare of the dog, just getting their grubby paws on your money, and I bet when the time comes when you want to return it, this "breeder" will be long gone (probs spending the dosh on a holiday) Some are so tiny you can't cuddle them because their bones will break!! Save yourself the heartache.
Read this - http://www.barkrescue.net/teacup.htm
Educate yourself and others around you, this is basically abusive, NO dog should ever have to live like this. But if you and other gullible people fall into the trap, we will be seeing this sad fact for a very very long time.

There only one RECOMMENDED breeder, that doesn't mean its the only breeder it just means it is the best in Australia. Go down to the bottom of this link to view it:

If you manage to find a breeder make sure you DON'T get a teacup! they are the runts of the litter and you will have many problems with them later in life
Good Luck!

Teacups are not a breed - there are NO such thing as teacups. they are just very small, almost sickly, with genetic problems, runts…research the breed first.

thank heaven another place they havent bougth into the fad
hon anyone who are breeding designer dogs are just out to milk you for money, their dogs are badly breed, of poor lines, and sometimes these dogs dont even turn out to be "teacups" rather just regular poor breed dogs of the breed, or even bigger then any dog of the breed should be
get a normal yorkshire terrier, they are healthier, and quite small already, dont buy into anyone who use any designer label
the only designer dog who actualy have a true counterpart is the labradoodle
however the designer labradoodle is not the same as the real labradoodle that your trying to develop in australia
you should be happy that your breeders havent adopted this horible breeding practise of breeding poor dogs of bad lines to make fancy designer dogs
stick to breeders who use proper breed names, make normal dogs, or calls their mutts either mutts, mongrels or mix'es
these are honest people who dont go about purposefully breeding poor dogs
this is where the american designer dogs are breed -> http://stoppuppymills.org

they are expensive to keep as there bodies are so fragile and they take ill real bad you would need to insure it but my advice would be not to get one.. but the choice is yours

you cant get a "teacup" anywhere because they dont exist!
Yorkies only come in one size.. they are just Yorkshire Terriers.. there are no "teacup" "toy" "mini" "micromini" or any other sizes.
"teacup" is just a label used by irresponsible breeders to sell unhealthy runts for a high price. Its not a recognized size.
Yorkies are already small dogs under 7 pounds.. that's plenty tiny.

'teacup' is not a breed it is a label to get more for the puppy most of them being sick, uhealthy, and very fragile. i have a yorkie that will be 4mo friday hes two in a half lbs rite now and will be anywhere from four to five.and a healthy yorkie is from four to seven lbs. if ur really wanting one check and see the closest place to you that sells them they might be willing to ship but that is expensive and hard on the dog hope this helps :]]
