does anybody know where i can get a toy yorkie or yorkiepoo at?
i live in woodbridge va does anybody know where i can get one of the puppies i listed at. THANK YOU
Hi Actress girl,
I think it's great that you want a Yorkie. BUt, can I make a recommendation to you? Visit http://www.ytca.org to learn more about the breed.
See, all Yorkies are in the toy group. Anyone calling them a "toy yorkie" doesn't know what they are talking about, or they are a bad breeder marketing them to an undereducated person.
Yorkie/Poodles mixes are just mutts. Mutts can be found at any shelter. http://www.petfinder.com
So, to find a Yorkie or a Yorkie mix, visit one of the links I gave you above and start your search there.
GL to you.

Do not dangle a participle - 'at' is never to be used at the end of a sentence. Does anyone know where I can get a toy yorkie? Is the correct grammar.
Geez, Louise.
Check out Petfinder or call your local humane society. They usually know where the breeders are.

Please — first get some real clue as to what you want.
ALL yorkies are "toys", they are in the Toy group, so you don't say "toy yorkie", just "yorkie"
As to yorkiepoo - you can probably find a mix like that at a breed rescue - try yorkie rescue and poodle (is that what the other part is?) rescue, they often take mutts in that look like their breed.
Try Petfinder.com also.
Whatever you do, don't pay someone to purposely breed mutts with all the dogs being put down for lack of homes.
Rescue a mix.

Please don't get either of these breeds.
"Toy" dogs (also called "teacups"), unless listed in the breed standard, are not a real breed of dog. To get these dogs so small, so-called-breeders take the runts of litters (typically the most unhealthy of the litter) and breed them together. The result is tiny, stunted, very unhealthy dogs. Many don't even make it past their first year, and many are born with deformities that may not be noticeable when you buy the dog. If you get a toy or teacup yorkie, expect to either end up with a dead puppy or tens of thousands in vet bills. And worse still, "toys" or "teacups" are only bred by irresponsible breeders and puppy mills. No decent breeder would sacrifice a dog's health like that. To buy a toy yorkie (they are also very expensive to purchase) is to support that puppy mill.
Designer dogs - mixes like yorkiepoos - are almost just as bad. The only reason a good dog breeder breeds is to improve the breed. The people who breed mixes just do it for money - why breed more mixed breeds when five million of them get put down in shelters every year?
Why not just get a yorkie? They're not big - rarely do they exceed seven pounds. You and the dog would be much happier in the long run. To begin your search, look at local shelters and yorkie rescues, and also check out http://www.petfinder.com. If you can't find "the one", buy from a responsible breeder, but make sure it follows the guidelines on this PDF.

there's no such thing as either breed.
Yorkies only come in ONE size.. there are no "toys" "minis" "microminis" or "teacup" sizes.
There's no such breed as a "yorkiepoo" either.. there are just Yorkie/Poodle mixes.. which are MUTTS.
Try http://www.petfinder.com to find a yorkie or a yorkie mix.

Pet shops and Newspaper adds are not safe AT ALL, so stay away from them if you want a healthy puppy.
People "breeding" "Yorkie-poo's" are only in it for the MONEY, so if you'd like this mix, please ONLY look in shelters, because they are safe there.
For regular Yorkies, please look at breeders.

Unfortunetly, this is the only "breeder" I found that wasn't selling a yorkie at 1,500 a pop. But I honestly don't trust this Tammy person because she breeds more then one breed of dog, but if YOU feel safe with her, then go right ahead and e-mail her for details. If you feel iffy about them, then don't buy from them.
I've checked in your area and the MD area (you might have to travel if you REALLY want a healthy pup) and they are all backyard breeders with OUTRAGEOUS pricing! All at $1000-3000.
The link I gave you is less extreme in pricing, but still makes me cringe from the multi-breeding (I think atleast) but remember, shelters are better. You'd be saving a life
Good luck.

Look on Petfinder.com There was just a huge puppy mill bust here in VA, about 1000 dogs, mostly small breeds, and I remember seeing Yorkies among the rescued dogs. They are all at shelters and in rescues, so they would be listed on Petfinder.com.
And instead of paying a ridiculous sum of money to another greedy breeder, you can have a "purebred" pup for a much smaller adoption fee!
