he pretty much chews on everything, and when i try and play with him he bites my finger. i mean it doesn’t hurt at all, but God forbid if he did that around a baby then that might hurt the child. he also bites my toes too lol
Training: I would respectfully suggest you read a couple of books and watch some videos on raising and training dogs. Also, I recommend two TV shows, "The Dog Whisperer" with Cesar Millan on the National Geographic Channel, and "It’s Me or the Dog," with Victoria Stillwell, on Animal Planet. Both programs are very instructive and often deal with the issues you raise here. Good luck!

How I Get My Toy Yorkie Puppy to Stop Biting?
Sunday, May 16th, 2010Can a German Shepherd Mount and Impregnate a Toy Yorkie?
Tuesday, April 13th, 2010
Yes a male GSD could possibly mate with a female Yorkie, it would probably cause severe pain to the female and she would most likely die before the puppies got to term because of the massive size difference.
Get your dog(s) fixed ASAP then you don’t have to worry about that happening!!
My Yorkie Loves a Squeaky Toy in the Shape of a Monkey. What Does It Mean?
Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010She is 2 years old. She does not hump the toy. She carries it wherever she goes and she licks it too. She is a small yorkie and there is no other animal in the house. Does she love the toy just because or does she really feel lonely and wants a son, daughter or just another companion? I only want her to be happy..What can it be?
i can think of two things one being that she dosnt want you or anyone else to take it away from her so she carries around with her or two she could have a phantom pregnancy dog s sometimes adopt a teddy and sometimes even other small animals because they think its there babys i dont think its because shes lonley and dogs dont feel that they want to have babies my guess is its probably just adopted the teddy its nothing to worry about but if it is a phantom pregnancy you may notice slight milk production in her teets if shes has a phantom pregnancy more than once i suggest you get he spayed that is if she isnt already hope this helped

Saturday, January 9th, 2010i am getting extremely serious about buying a yorkshire terrier although i cant find any really responsible breeder. HELPPPPPP!!!!! could u give me a link to their website thxxx
Yorkies come in ONE size, so anyone selling mini or teacups is NOT a responsible breeder.
How Do I Deter Coyotes in My Yard of a Subdivison? My Toy Yorkie Got Carried Away Tonight.?
Thursday, December 17th, 2009Luckily my dog and I were screaming and the coyote dropped her. She has bruising only. Xrays showed she’s okay…THANK GOODNESS.
Go outside with your dog at ALL times. Don’t keep any dog food or cat food outside. Garbage secure in a metal trash barrel. Sometimes coyotes are attracted by food & come around to scavenge. Encourage your neighbors to do the same.
Is a 3 1/2 Pound to 4 Pound Full Grown Yorkie Considered to Be a Teacup/ Toy Yorkie or a Standard Yorkie?
Monday, September 28th, 2009
in other words will it be a very small dog or a little small. "tea cup/toy" yorkies are very small. i also heard that the very small dogs end up having a lot of health problems.
it would be considered a yorkshire terrier.
There are no "toys" "teacups" "minis" or any other size.. Yorkies come in ONE size only, which is 7 pds or less. Its probably considered to be on the small end of "normal".

Getting a Toy Yorkie Puppy in 12 Days?
Sunday, August 16th, 2009My family recently put a deposit down for a Toy Yorkie puppy. Because of my sister’s confirmation this weekend (March 15th), we are bringing him home the next Saturday (March 21st [or should it be Friday, the 20th..?]), in exactly 12 days from now. We know where we’re going to place his crate/potty area, but I just wanted to know of any things like toys, food, treats, etc. we should get him prior to his arrival and when should we get them?
You will NEED:
Food
Bed and blankets
Lead and collar with ID tag (or if not, make sure he’s microchipped)
Flea/worming treatment
Food and water bowls
Toys (balls are always good)
Puppy shampoo
Brush/comb
A good supply of newspaper for house training
You might WANT to get:
Treats (good as a training aid or just because)
Training spay (the stuff that deters them from scratching and peeing on stuff)
A book on puppy care
A book on Yorkies
All should be bought before the puppy arrives, apart from the lead which you will only need to get when you can walk him – which will be when he’s had all his vaccinations. Remember to feed him the brand of food his breeder gave him. You can wean him off it over time if you need to.
What Is My Toy Yorkie Growling At?
Friday, August 14th, 2009My toy yorkie keeps looking over the couch like something is there. We let her down and she runs and growls behind the couch where there is a table. What is she doing? She just started doing this the last 5 days or so. We adopted her from the humane society July 5.
Dogs are very curious, so if they think something is strange, they growl/bark. If it’s annoying try to see what it is. Look at what he is growling at, and pick up things it might be. Then possibly move it to an area, and she might forget. My maltese barks at clothes on the floor, and if we move it to a bedroom, she stops barking.
HELP!!! I Just Adopted a Toy Yorkie (4 Y/o) and He’s Just Staying in a Corner, What Do I Do?
Wednesday, August 12th, 2009Every time we get near him he either: runs away, barks, or tries to bite. He doesn’t play with my other yorkie, he doesnt even recognize him. The toy yorkie is more concerned with avoiding me and the family members.
Don’t treat him like a baby. Treat him like a large dog and don’t pick him up. Wait until he comes to you, don’t go to him and force him to do something. He’s a very nervous, unstable dog that needs a good "leader". Don’t talk in a baby voice, just ignore him and don’t look him in the eye. You should consider an experienced dog trainer before this gets out of hand. You don’t want a dog biting at you. no matter how small.
