I am currently 4 hours from my home and where my Yorkie's vet is. I have been away due to a series of operations I need since Dec 2007. But lately (my Yorkie has been with me the whole time), when I pick him up he moans, or hides under my bed, which is not like him. He always wants to be next to me or on top of me. I recently had a vet who is a friend of a friend come to where I am staying to have his teeth cleaned, and he didn't mention he noticed anything. When I carry him or pick him up I never do it by his cute little legs, I lift him up as a loving parent picks up a child under the arms or I will put one hand on his "hinnie" and one under his chest. Just thinking that something might be wrong with him makes me cry. I have had him since he was 2 months old, and picked him up on my way home after a miscarriage. The whole family is concerned even my daughter who thinks of him as her little brother. Anyone experience this with their Yorkie? Please help. Thank You.
i have no experience with yorkies, but i do know some about dog injuries. you should get your vet friend to come check out his spine, he may have an unseen injury that your touching without even knowing it. if theres nothing there tell him to check him belly/under area, then the legs. if their is nothing wrong there, i would seriously you recommend taking your dog to a special vet behaiviorist. they can check your dogs "emotions" and see if hes really been acting out of the ordinary and then they can tell you why. i really think its an unseen injury but if it is a behaivor problem it may get pricey. i hope your yorkie is ok! (if your not busy e-mail me a picture of him, yorkies are so cute and i'd love to see yours)
Hope This Helps!
