Taking care of my six week old Yorkshire Terrier?.?
I just bought a 6 week old yorkshire terrier. I know that he is young to be away from his mom and I have reasons for that. I am just wondering if there is anything special that I should do to take care of him while he is still so small. I am feeding him puppy chow with milk and water rotating. He has bones and toys and acts completely healthy. I just want to make sure that it stays that way.
Any Suggestions?
No cows milk…That will upset his stomach and give him the runs. Goat's milk is the closest to his dams milk, but he really doesn't need it at 6 weeks - Mixing it with water is fine.

Don't let him have milk. Just water should be fine. Make sure you start him on vaccinations. Call your vet & ask what he or she recommends. Make sure you're feeding him a good-quality food, PURINA is a good brand. Good luck!

don't feed him milk. At age six weeks they do not have to have milk any more. Make sure you play with him tons.

Purina, Iams and Science Diet are terrible brands … full of fillers and by-products.
Go to dogfoodanalysis.com and find a good food for him.

Yorkies have sensitive tummies,no milk.Science Diet or Iams is best,also they tend to have low blood sugar,you can give a small amount of karo syrup on your fingertip once in a.m. and once in p.m. for this.if you notice him shaking,it means his blood sugar has dropped and needs karo.it's best to give it to him in a.m. and p.m. to insure he will be o.k.

I am thinking of purchasing a yorkie he is six weeks old. His ear are very tall he weights 2lbs. and he is bushie and tan and black…from what I have told you is all of this normal?I have read a lot about them on the web.But just making sure he has AKC papers and all. Any comments
