Well Toy poodles don't need hair cuts as much as yorkies or maltese.

I think they're also easier to groom and train so I'd say toy poodle.

I personally like the chocolate colored toy poodles.

I have had the pleasure of owning two Yorkies and one Toy Poodle and they were all great little dogs.

If color is an issue for you, then I would go for the poodle since they come in every variety of color. My little poodle was what they called "apricot" and it was sort of a peachy color.

Yorkies tend to have little color variations and Maltese are always white (my sister owns a Maltese). But again, they're all lovely little dogs.

well my mom has 4 maltese and she LOVES them. they are adorable… but, i have had a toy poodle since i was 8, (i'm 21 now, and she is still with me). Toy poodles are super smart and easy to train, i think more so than maltese. Mine is a color called apricot, and i think its pretty. kinda cream colored with peachy colored ears. The only thing with poodles is that they are bad to develop cataracts and go blind. mine is partially blind in one eye, but she is also really old. besides that she's totally healthy though. Well, I cant really help with the yorkie, because I don't have any experience with them… but i think they are SUPER cute!
All three breeds require lots of grooming, so keep that in mind!

each dog will have to go to the groomer once a month but I gues the mini poodle would be better but I think water dogs are naturally smelly like when they are outside for 10 minutes they will be stinky when they come back inside. I think a gray mini poodle would be cute that way the black sleepy eyes they get won't look that stained. each of the three dogs will have to have thier eyes wiped everyday anyway but still you want your dogs eyes to look clean. I think the poodle would be smarter too and the bark won't be as bad. just don't teach your dog to "speak" and "bark" when people come over cuz that might be annoying real fast.I know someone that has a toy size bichon poodle it's like a mix but it looks more poodle and it's a really funny dog.
