Adoption fees are not expensive

My mom has a chorkie (chihuahua/yorkie mix)
1. They can have their hair cut to be shorter…but not until they are older b/c when they are babies they are too small to get their hair cut
2. My mom has one
3. I love her puppy and she does too
3. A full blooded yorkie anywhere between 600-1000. If you get a mixed breed you can spend less (hers was 250)
4. They are not very easy to train b/c when they are really little it is hard to get them to go outside. If it is cold where you live they can't go out in that weather b/c they can get sick. Teaching them to sit and such takes a long time b/c they are so little.
5. If they are longer haired about 1 time a day so it doesn't get matted

There is only one kind of yorkie, but they do have a few different hair colors.
Can you have thier hair cut so they don't look as fuffy and girly?
Yes, its called a "puppy cut". The majority of yorkie owners I know keep their dogs cut like this because its easier to take care of
Do you have one?
I have two yorkie mixes I rescued
Is he/she worth it?
yes
How much do they usaully cost?
It really depends on what area you are. They can cost anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars
Are the easy to train?
yes and no… to me it depends on the individual dog. One of my yorkie mixes is VERY smart and know what I want him to do.. he just prefers to do his own thing
How often needed to be brushed?
daily
and

YES.
I belong to a yorkie forum- http://www.yorkietalk.com .. we would love for you to join us and ask anymore questions you might have.

I have two Yorkies (Gizmo and Grizzly) that cost $1000 dollars each without papers. With papers it would have been up to $2500 with breeding rights. But I live in a small town and there is only one breeder within 100 Miles. You may find them cheaper where you live. They are totally worth it. They have amazing personalites and a lot of attitude. Yes you can have their hair however you want it. Mine get shaved short every few months and I don't have to brush them at all. They are fairly easy to train. They are smart and usually get what your trying to teach them after only a few tries. They are very stubborn though so you have to be consistent when training. You have to be very patient and firm with potty training. Mine took monthes and they knew that they were supposed to go outside they just didn't want to. One of my dogs is black and gold and the other is more like a grey-blue and gold. They are both from the same parents but different litters. There is no difference they are the same breed. the only thing is that the black and gold ones do not have the right markings to be show dogs. They have to have the grey-blue coat to be in shows. Hope that helps.
Also Yorkie puppies are born black and tan. In their first few months they will start to get more tan and grey all over their bodies. They are also a non shedding breed.

All yorkies are like this, except Biewers (which are a separate breed) and "golden yorkies" ( a scam by breeders).
1. Yes, this is called the puppy cut. You can ask your groomer for it. You can also clip the hair where a topknot would usually be put for a less "girly" look. This is a yorkie with a puppy cut (well, one of the picutres. It should tell you. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.swankpets.com/images/Munchie%2520006_resize.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.swankpets.com/worlds-smallest-and-cutest-dogmunchkin-a-14.html&h=540&w=720&sz=63&hl=en&start=5&um=1&tbnid=GEm6E0_CaDCEqM:&tbnh=105&tbnw=140&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dyorkie%2Bwith%2Bpuppy%2Bcut%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG
2. No, but I've known people who do have one and do a lot of research on them as I am thinking of getting one in the Fall.
3. YES ( to me), YORKIES ARE ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT, %100! I love this breed of dog to bits, but if you aren't willing to take proper care of one then no, a yorkie is not worth it.
4. A good, quality yorkie ranges from $1500-$3000, though I've seen some go up for as high as $10,000. Expensive, but hey, you get what you pay for. Rescued yorkies are usually a lot less. Check petfinder.com for a rescue.
5. Yorkies are very smart little dogs and are usually easy to train, but can be hard to house train. Do not use piddle pads unless you live in an apartment. Also make sure to have correct training methods, meaning no yelling or hitting. And sticking the dog's nose in droppings is a myth, so don't follow any of those. All dogs should begin obedience training around 8-12 weeks.
6. Every day. Use a pin cushion brush and use a spray beforehand, as brushing a dry yorkie coat can damage the hair. Use Ice-On-Ice, found in pet stores.
Hope I answered your questions! Good luck!
