My yorkie is two years old, and I have not cut her hair. I wanted to keep her black color, but the hair breaks once it reaches a certain length. I use high-end pet shampoos and conditioners, a leave in detangler, and a pick to go through her hair. I also feed her an expensive high quality food. Any suggestions?
I am trying to keep her coat as long as I can. I have been grooming her feet, hiney, and face, but would like to keep her hair healthy and long.
This site has a grooming guide on it that is what I use. Go to the information page for the link to it. I’ve done what this has said all along and mines hair is on the to the floor and looks really pretty.

Cutting the hair won’t change the color. The hair will either lighten or it won’t. Yorkies are supposed to be blue and tan in color.
You are already taking excellent care of her coat. Just be sure to keep it out of her eyes and don’t let her trip on it. Cut it or not, that’s up to you.
