I just got my dogs haircut and I had it done all even, it was basically all cut off, now I want his hair to grow a lot more fuller, thicker, more shiny. He’s a yorkie and his hair was thinning, I took him to the vet and they said he is okay. He’s eating good, he’s on Blue Buffalo and I got some Lineatone which I suppose to give him once a day to help. Do any body know any other suggestions? I really want his hair to be longer, I love dogs with long coats.
Genes and great diet are your best friends for a gorgeous coat. Don’t forget though that those show dog Yorkies you see on TV, their coats take a tremendous amount of maintenance and special grooming. Most pet dogs will not look like that! Blue Buffalo is a good food but if he just doesn’t seem to be thriving on it then pick another high quality food, maybe a different brand or different protein sources will click better with his system. Just because its a fancy-schmancy food doesn’t mean it is necessarily right for his particular needs.
Do a little research on grooming for yorkies. I don’t know the breed to be able to give you specific instructions on the right products and techniques for his coat, but the show dog breeders would know.
