You don't NEED a dog. A responsible pet owner knows a dog needs you. It sounds like you want a dog for the wrong reasons, so you should not get one.

Why on earth would *need* a dog *fast*? Don't rush into anything – you have to make a 15 year committment to this life and be able to give it your time, love, and money (several thousand dollars by the end of his life). Rushing to get one will probably force you to buy from one of those horrible pet stores where they buy from breeders who abuse their animals, or to buy from a backyard breeder who doesn't know what they are getting into or how to breed correctly (for anything other than money). PLEASE don't 'get one fast'. Take the time to find the right dog for you and the right match for you. Pets are not accessories. They are your responsibility for life.
