-own one of these dogs? tell me about them! and do you know any colleges that allow small dogs?
colleges usually make you stay in a dorm for like the first semester…so what school allows small dogs?im only 13, i have a big chance of getting one of the little darlings above this year, so i have plenty of time til i go to college, 5 years of time, but still dogs live longer the 5 years, and my 'rents are not taking care of it, they made that very clear. so i need a college that allows small dogs.

Yorkie. You might want to go ask the schools if they allow pets. Some schools don't even allow little pets like snakes and fish and stuff. You can always rent a dog-friendly apartment. Some apartments let you keep a dog if it is less than 30 lbs.

Their all beautiful companions but I've always been drawn to the affenpinscher. I'm sorry to say that I know of no colleges that allow animals of any kind, you would probably need to look to off campus housing.

I like affenpinschers because not every one has one. They can be expensive. Most colleges will not allow pets in the dorms but you can always live off campus. Dogs are a big responsibility. Keep in mind that it is darn hard to find places that allow pets and college towns are no exceptions. Don't try to sneak on in either as it is dishonest and makes all pet owners look bad. Make sure that you have enough money not only to support yourself but also your dog.

Based on just looks, I'd go with a Yorkshire Terrier. However, no one should EVER choose a dog based on just looks. In order to fairly answer this question, I'd have to research all three breeds and compare them. I'd choose the one that best fit my lifestyle and the care I can provide for them.

Most colleges do not allow dogs and most other pets in dorms. If you find an off-campus apartment that allows dogs, though, you could have one.

Please keep in mind that it can be very challenging going to school full time AND caring for a puppy properly. You may find that you simply do not have the time with your classes, projects/essays/etc., and a social life. Puppies need a lot of attention. If you're really interested in getting one, please do your research and ask yourself if you can really provide the care a puppy requires. It may be a good idea to wait until you're finished with college to get one. That way, you'll know if you have the time for one, you'll have your own house/apartment, and you'll know if you have the money to properly care for one.

EDIT: Search around on your own for colleges that allow small dogs. I think first and foremost, you'll want to find a college that suits your educational needs. I really do recommend you wait until after college to get a puppy, especially if your parents have made it clear they will not care for the puppy while you're away. Most colleges require you to stay on campus as a freshman.
