What is the best shampoo and conditioner for Maltese and Yorkie puppies?
Mrs. B and GSD, DP, ACD, AK….I am not trying to be rude but I dont see how your answers help me. Please just answer the question posted. If you dont know the answer, leave it alone.
i like bio groom or earth bath, oatmeal shampoos are a lot more gentle on their skin. there are specific puppy shampoos but stay away from cheap stuff like hartz. water down the shampoo as you only need it to sudds up in order for it to clean. it makes it a whole lot easier to massage into the coat and rinsing it out is easier as well. after your done bathing be sure to rinse your pup off really well with fresh water and any soap residue can irritate their skin and make them very itchy

careful with the Maltese. They have hair….tangles very easily!!!!! Has to be brushed while drying..

I don't know much about small dogs, but I do know that bathing dogs gets rid of the natural oils in their coats which can take away the water resistant and weather resistance.
EDIT: Actually I do no what I'm talking about. And Mrs B is right, long haired dogs do get mattes easily. And if I wans't being helpful I wouldn't have told you that washing a dogs coat gets rid of the natural oils.
