Yorkie Puppy

I would like to know from actually people recommended dog food for a Yorkie Puppy. Wet & dry dog food. Thanks for the help.

Nutro Natural Choice Small Breed Puppy is a great one. I feed the adult formula to my Lola Belle. She is a pug/chihuahua mix and she loves it. It is a Chicken and Rice formula, great for the skin and fur and easy to digest. The kibble is small, shaped sort of like a PEZ candy. If you look at the website you can see a picture of it.

I just got my yorkie puppy and I’m curious how big she will be. She will be 17 weeks tomorrow and weighs exactly 4lbs. Her mother weighs 6lbs and her father was 3lbs. Also when will she be fully grown, at what age? Thanks so much.

anything up to 10lb maby a little more, please tell me she’s not a ‘teacup’ she’ll be riddled with medical problems?

I want to adopt a small 5-6 lb yorkie. I do NOT want a dog from a puppy mill. (I don’t want to support them.) Do you know any place I can find a yorkie puppy for around $500 (with shipping or that I could pick up in the Bay Area CA). I want to adopt from someone who takes care of their puppies. Thank you!

Try your local shelter or petfinder.com. A lot of yorkies are up there for adoption waiting for their forever homes. Good luck! Oh and stay away from puppy stores!

I have a 7 week old female yorkie. Mom was a rescue dog and due to her health problems, vet okayed the release of the puppies early, as they are all healthy and eating solid food. She had 5 brothers and sisters so she is not used to being alone. I have had her 5 days and she cries most of the night. I am trying to be patient but running on empty with very little sleep. Any suggestions?

Have her to sleep on your bed, she’s only tiny and it will give her comfort. Put a waterproof cover over your duvet. If she does wake up in the night when she wants to pee and you can get up and let her outside, house training is so much easier this way.

I did this with my 3rd dog, she was about 8 weeks old when we had her. I love my sleep (having had 2 babies) so it was easier all round. She was sleeping through the whole night by 3 months of age. Bliss.

Plus she’ll keep your feet warm in the winter and you can always turf her out if anything "interesting" is going to happen in the bedroom

I’m 15 years old and I’ve been convincing my parents to get a dog for about 2 years now! They finally said it’s a maybe and i’m 90% sure it’s going to be my christmas present. Please tell me about how much it is to buy a yorkie puppy, white or brown it doesn’t matter. How much for the food? Shots? I need to be prepared with the correct information to tell my parents so i can finally get a dog!

From a reputable breeder and not a puppy mill yorkie at a pet store/kijiji… probably 1200 or so…Make sure all the proper health testing has been done, and that you’ve done your research…

Yorkies are prone to: Early dental disease, retained deciduous teeth, liver shunts, heart murmurs, luxating patellas, and collapsing trachea.

The chances of an unhealthy puppy goes up when it comes from a pet store or backyard breeder.

Vaccines are about 80$ each and you need at least 3 distemper.parvo combo shots, as well as 1 rabies shot… for the first year.
Deworming should be done multiple times, and is usually around 30$ per round.
Food varies greatly on brand, and quality.
Then you need supplies.. leash, collar, bowls, crate, combs, brush, shampoo, nail clippers, toys, bed, etc.
Pet Insurance- depends on which plan you go with and what you want for a deductible
