Could a Yorkie puppy and a rabbit play together?

I'm smiling typing this question because it sounds kinda weird! But we have a Yorkie puppy and I was just wondering if we got a rabbit would she play with the rabbit or maul it to death?!

I'd say steer clear of the small furry animals with a yorkie.

They were originally bred to be ratters on ships and farms.

I stayed with my aunt and her family for a semester in college. They had a guinea pig. My yorkie used to hide in the corner of the room and watch the guinea pig in it's cage. My yorkie was great with other dogs, small and large, kids, strangers, etc. He just wasn't cool with the small black fuzzy thing in that cage!!

I wouldn't suggest it, yorkie puppies like to bite and nip at things when they are puppies and could scare the rabbit and cause it to kick or scratch your puppy or cause other injuries to the puppy, or the puppy injure the rabbit. I have a yorkie and a rabbit and my yorkie actually tries to kill my rabbit. So I think it would be wise not to allow them to play together. :D

Be very careful. Yorkies were actually bred to kill rats, so it could be dangerous. My Aunt's yorkie is known to kill chipmunks, so it might not be a good idea.

They should be. I once saw a doberman dog sitting with a bunny next to it, and then it started licking it! Seeing as Yorkies are quite small it should be OK. Just introduce them to each other slowly.

I don't think it's a good idea. I know that some dogs are fine with rabbits, but Yorkies have been bred to kill small animals. Many Yorkies retain this instinct.

I have a Yorkie at my house and my boyfriend and I have a bunny that lives at his house…I wouldn't even think of introducing them.

But all dogs and rabbits are different…so I don't want to say no to your question. All I know is that I would never introduce my crazy dog to my sometimes scared, formerly abused rabbit.
