My new yorkie puppy has diarrhea. What should I do?

I just got a yorkie puppy yesturday and she is having diarrhea. Its not pure water, but pretty loose. Should I worry or is this just stress from new environment? Any remedies that anyone knows of? The vet does not open for another hour at least. Thanks for your help

Loose stools are common in puppies that have just been brought into a new, strange home. It is probably fear and nerves.
If it is, it should go away by this evening.

Probably due to the change of home and stress, but initially the person you should be contacting is the breeder, assuming you got the puppy from a reputable breeder and not a pet show or BYB?
If it was from a pet shop, I would not wait before going to the vet.

its probably stress, give her some clear pedialyte, and keep her on a chicken and rice diet. If that doesnt work try kaopectate but you can also instead of pedialyte, mix kaopectate with clear gatorade. If diarrhea persists make an appointment at the vets.

Make sure she is drinking plenty of water. The vet will ask how much she has eaten and drank so that's one thing to make sure you monitor. If she has diarrhea you can just give her water for a little while and not worry too much about the food. If you changed her food it could be it too. Make sure you are not feeding her too much canned (wet) food because they need the hard food to help clean their teeth and it also firms up the stools. I have a problem with Pedigre dog food because it has a lot of corn in it and my dogs get really bad dirrhea.

It could be something new that he's eaten. Chances are, you may have fed her different diet from what she used to get. However, you don't really have to worry much, unless the diarrhea goes together with vomiting. Dogs do really get run of the mill sometimes but these should go away soon with proper diet and nutrition.

Here's a link which I hope can give you more information. good luck!

I hope you read all the way down to this answer.
Call the vet make an appointment and get her in ASAP.
This could be from many things, the first that comes to mind is she may have worms. Next it could very well be stress. And the worse case it could be Parvo. However without running a fecal and doing a parvo test we can not be sure.
Little dogs tend to get dehydrated very fast and you need to make sure to find out what is going on before you wait to long. So call the vet.
