I'll be getting a Yorkie puppy soemtime this week and I'm not sure what type of treats to buy for it since it's so small. I have a West Highland White Terrier whose 16 pounds and his treats are like, those bacon strips for dogs, and other meaty like dog treats. I know that I can't give them to my yorkie since it's only like 5 pounds. Suggestions? Thanks!
My 2 Yorkies get " Zukes Mini Naturals " they are only 2 calories a piece, and are the perfect size for a little one. They're also really good for training. They come in Salmon and Peanut Butter flavours. I think there's one other kind too, but I can't remember.

The dog will be able to eat any bite size treats, especially if they are soft. All natural treats are the best, you can find them at any local pet store!

All natural treats are actually not always the best. That is, in terms of a not-so-carpet-friendly digestive tract.
However, anything by milk bone is good, but the brand doesn't really matter. Size wise, I'd say about 5 x 2 cm is fairly good. Bigger ones that you split in half work well also.
EDIT: if you find yourself without treats, I find goldfish or cheezits to work well.

I have a yorkie. He seems to be pretty happy with just about any kind of treat. Sometimes I do have to cut the larger ones down so that he can eat them but other then that he is pretty happy with any kind.

hi,
To share food is to share love. Most dogs love to have a treat handed to them, and food that smells like your hand is a big deal. Your dog will also appreciate a variety of flavors and textures. (Think of it this way–do you always want the same flavor of ice cream?).
