How can my sister fatten up her dog? ?

My sister recently rescued a yorkie from a puppy mill ( i know :( its really sad)
Well ever since she got him, he has been getting alot healthier, but he is still skinny. she has tried feeding him chicken sometimes to fatten him up but it doesnt work.. Is there anything we can put in his food or feed him to fatten him up?
yes he goes to the vet every 2 months. And he has had ALL his shots!!

If you feed him a high quality meat based puppy food it will take care of things, it just takes a little time. Make sure that he has been wormed also.

first question is has she taken him to the vet to be sure he doesnt have something medically wrong with him? alot of pups from puppymills have so many health problems thatll have to be ruled out. if hes already gone to the vet and has a clean bill of health, ive always found that ramen noodles(water drained) withraw eggs mixed in fattened a dog up fast

Feed him a good puppy food. We give it to malnourished and momma dogs.

I had a sick dog that wasn't eating well a few years ago. I bought cheap tuna in oil and mixed 1/3 of a can with some soft dog food each time I fed him. He ate a lot better with the tuna mixed in and the oil helped him put on some weight.

Unfortunately his heart finally gave out and he died but he was old and the tuna idea helped keep him heathy till his last couple of days. If you buy a lot of it when it's on sale and only use 1/3 of a can per feeding it isn't to expensive.

Feed him McDonalds…haha. Just joking…that would probably kill him. What I do sometimes to keep my puppy fat is make her a tiny hamburger, or steak…she LOVES it and its good for her. Be careful you watch it's weight though…it could easily die of obesity. Also, ask the vet what the healthiest way to bulk the pup up is.

Perhaps he is using every calorie in being so energetic as terriers are noted for, if he has a clean bill of health.
