My Little Yorkie Was Pregnant When We Rescued Her, Which Was a Surprise to Us. ?

We took her to the vet and they did an ultrasound on her and they told me a week ago that she had at least 2 puppies. However, she had one yesterday and hasn’t had another one…. she is not panting, no contractions no nothing… seems to think she is done… is there anyway the ultrasound could have been wrong? Honestly, if I had not taken her I would think she was done w/ one the way she is acting… she is just cuddling the pup and letting it nurse.

If you were not there when she had the pups, there is a possibility that she had a dead pup and ate it. They will do this if a pup is born dead or it dies. Still it would be a good idea to have her checked.

Call the vet now! There could be a problem with the other one.

dog births are different from human births…
and there is no way the ultrasound was wrong

    Hmmm…
    That is very odd…
I reccomend to call the vet.
Maybe it was a food baby! (Lol from Juno!)
Idk but that is very odd,
Maybe that way the puppy was in there, or the way it was turned.
But you should still call the doctor for that.

I think you should take her to the vet just to be on the safe side under the circumstances. However, if there was a problem with other pups inside her she definitely would be showing signs of distress–panting, trying to push, licking, maybe even a bubble/sac visible.

Take her to the vet, the pup may be stuck, or she may have a dead pup in her belly.
