I have been bombarded with scammers and identity thieves, but no real prospects. It shouldn’t cost $500 to $2000 for a puppy. Even the rescue organizations over charge, unless its an old, almost deceased animal! Can someone help me?
It shouldn’t cost $500 to $2000 for a puppy. – From a REPUTABLE breeder who has put their blood sweat tears and 5 to 10 times as much money into producing a litter it should. You are paying for what they have done to provide you and everyone else with a healthy puppy
Rescues are non profit. How do you think that animal gets treated for heartworm? Vaccinated? Altered Other health issues taken care of? Fed? From donations AND the adoption fees of other animals.
go find some byb giving badly bred pups away if you aren’t willing to explore either of these options fully.

Crap is cheap, quality costs. So, you are looking for a BYB that has bred a litter of crap. And even most of them are greedy enough to charge more than $200.
Good luck.

They do not overcharge. The amount of time and money invested into rescue animals is overwhelming, they do not even charge enough to break even every year on what they spend saving the lives of the animals they get. Aside from which, most the time you get a pet from a rescue they are already vaccinated, wormed, and fixed, so you’re spending what you’d normally pay anyway.
The reason a well bred dog costs so much is because of how difficult it is to show, to breed, to train, and to do it well. Most breeders are lucky break even with the sale of a litter as well after all the showing fees and what not.
Yorkies are popular because of their size, and there’s a certain hype going on about them right now. They are going to cost more because of that regardless.

Thats pretty harsh, don't you think?
Elderly dogs need love too. Its mindsets like that that make it so difficult to adopt animals out, and why so many good dogs are euthanized daily!
Why do you HAVE to have a puppy? Either way the dog you choose is going to love you the same. Rescue groups don't make profit off of the money they charge for dogs- trust me.
The money I charge for the dogs that I've rescued goes toward shots, medical exams & treatments, spaying/neutering, care, etc. A $500 dollar tag isn't that much.
